16 National Circuit, Barton
My club
Went to enjoy Friday night jazz to listen to the Sally Marett Trio with Brendan Clarke (Bass Guitar) and Greg Stott (Guitar). Knew the music would be fabulous. Super impressed with the new decor and the fantastic quality of the bar food menu. Even more impressed with the superb salad produced by executive chef Darren Tetley to meet my particular dietary requirements. Bar staff were cheerful and professional. Bathrooms impressive and immaculately clean. Thoroughly enjoyable 10/10 NPC. THANK YOU 🙏
There is an ample bar area in the lower foyer. The downstairs meeting space, used for formal meals and speeches by VIP guests, is chic and adaptable depending on audience size. There is also an upstairs lounge and bar.
The National Press Club is a little dated downstairs however beautiful decor upstairs. I was shocked at the prices of their drinks, $12 for a beer and $19 for a dry vermouth and dry ginger ale. Staff were a little unsure of what they were doing behind the bar. Not keen to go here for casual drinks again. Chairs are comfortable though!
Good prices, nice atmosphere no yobs
One of the Best places to spend your Sundays.
Went to hear Kevin McCloud (Grand Designs) talk at the NPC. Fabulous lunch, I don't know how the chefs produce steak for that amount of people and that is still perfectly cooked and 'melt in your mouth'! Great venue and filled all expectations!!!
Definitely not what it used to be back in the day.
The venue was excellent. We had a private gin tasting session organised. The service was excellent and the quality of gin and cocktails offered during the tasting were excellent. The food doesn't offer much value for money, but the location is up-scale Barton.
A great place to meet Canberra players in politics, government or journalism. Reasonably priced drinks and meals. Nice buzzing atmosphere.
