Melshell Oyster Shack

We planned to go to another place to have lunch that day. But a lady working at a cellar door in Tamar Valley recommend Melshell oyster shack to us. Oh man, we are glad we went there. Lovely Small truck that sells the oysters. Friendly staff. The oysters are so fresh. They farm the oysters that you can sit by the river enjoying the oysters and the farm for the baby oyster is just in front of you. Tips: You can bring your own wine there. They can provide you an instant chiller and glasses for free. Don’t forget to chill it before you go there.

Oh my god! The freshest oysters I've ever tasted in my life! No fishy flavour at all, I honestly did not know oysters can taste this good! Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable with everything you need to know about oysters of course! Oyster farm right next to the shack and you can watch staff shuck the oysters right in front of you! Went back to Sydney and had some oysters and honestly they taste like s#@$. Will not have another oyster again until I come back! Miss you guys so much!

A little drive off the main road but most worth the trip. Such a fun place to eat Oysters looking out at the oyster farms where they were harvested from. Definitely an authentic experience.

Best oyster in Tasmania with reasonable price! Although the place a bit far away but worth to drive there. You will never forget their freshness and the taste of their oyster. Highly recommended!!

Wow, best oysters I've had in a very long time. The oyster shack is a bit out of the way but the detour is well worth it!!!! $20 a dozen is very decently priced.

Fabulous setting! We ate the freshest oysters we've ever had, sitting at a little table on the dunes looking over a serene view. We will remember it and will be back.

Read the reviews and drove an hour here, will regret if I have not come here . Oysters is big and creamy. Price is definitely under value for the oysters.. Ate more than a dozen by myself and Order 2 bigger oysters at $5 each. A MUST TRY

Best oyster I've ever! It's a hidden a gem. We didn't know this place existed til we went to Kate's Berry farm and saw brochure on them. The lady who served us there was absolutely wonderful to us. She recommended that we sat near the beach and what a beautiful view it was! Tasted awesome, fantastic service.. Coming back again when we go Tasmania!

Oh my.. it was like heaven... I admit I love oysters, so I eat them whenever I can, but these were by far the freshest, creamiest, yummiest oysters I've ever had. The girls serving couldn't help but laugh watching me enjoying them. Just as well we were the only ones there for a few minutes.
