Hot Chips are amazing. Good for kids and prices are stated for every item, good practise for school students to learn how to count money. Lots of junk food. Every time I visit the medical centre there are always kids in, out and around this place. Why I'm giving two stars is the asian man at the counter who acts like he hates this world. I entered the store smiling as usual, my first time entering. He obviously wasn't okay with any sunshine adding to his rainy day. I was looking at the menu but there were way too many things to look at and the menu was just messy and confusing to look at. so it took me a while to see what size chips there are and the cost. Usually stores put the boxes on the counter and label 'small medium large' as well as the prices. I asked the guy about the chips sizes and prices and he was SO RUDE and treated me with so much disrespect. I couldn't even understand what he was saying with his accent and he was talking so fast. He was saying WHAT DO YOU WANT? THE SIZE? WHAT DO YOU MEAN? YOU CAN GET 5, 10, 25? I asked what do you mean? (because what world do you serve 5 chips, 10 chips and 25 chips, does this store literally count each and every chips that goes into the bag?) and he said (I think) "how many handfuls?? 5, 10, 15, 25?" that was the most confusing question I have ever received I just wanted to know the sizes and the prices. SO APPARENTLY THIS STORE DOESN'T DO SMALL MEDIUM LARGE LIKE EVERY REGULAR FAST FOOD TAKEAWAY JOINT AND THEY ATTACK YOU IF YOU DON'T USE THE "NORMAL" SIZES. WHAT THE HECK IS A 5 HANDFUL?? I ended up getting the "25" or whatever because I thought it was 25 chips??? He couldn't explain anything properly with that rude attitude of his. the "25" was the largest size I assume. The fries were way too salty but they're the best chips. Someone sack the guy, I'm pretty sure he does this to all the children and school children that come by every day. I am a young adult and I was being treated this way. Disgusting.

Great place for "deep-Friday"! The only minor complaint is that chip portion size is inconsistent from week to week. Otherwise, generous with most other things.

They use far to much salt, when you have to site and individually brush every item off its wayyyy to much salt.. have had good potato scallops from them befor but this time the batter on the fish and the scallops was sweet and not just a tad I mean it tasted like a dessert. Very disappointed, and turned off their food .. but the customer service is friendly and polite

Last time I ordered a quarter of chicken and minimum chips, with only a tiny bit of salt please (as the time before that they were far too salty for me). After taking our dinner home, we found that they had wrapped the extremely dried out and inedible chicken with the chips, and both, were once again covered in so much salt that the entire meal was completely inedible, for both my daughter and I. They obviously forgot that I asked for a TINY bit of salt. Never mind. They're only human. So, for the third time, I went in tonight and asked if I could please order a quarter of chicken and minimum chips - NO SALT AT ALL please. After asking how long the chicken had been sitting in the bain-marie (hot food warmer) and I was told since this morning, I asked the young cashier if he could please show me the other side of this half chicken, (which had been in the warmer for around 9hours)? Noticing that the half chicken was once again EXTREMELY dried out, I requested whether he would mind cutting me a fresh quarter, from one of the whole cooked chickens displayed in the bain-marie please? He asked his boss if that would be ok? I was told no, they wished to sell (the dried out, inedible) half chicken first, before cutting any fresh ones. So......I opted for no chicken at all, thank you very much. Just minimum chips, no salt, thanks :-) We got home tonight, hungry and excited that we had hot chips to look forward to for dinner ......and low & behold - there was salt on the damn chips! Again! This is the 3rd bad experience in a row that we've had with Macfitz Fish and Chips Takeaway. They have just lost a loyal customer, who has been going to that shop since it opened many many years ago, primarily because they REFUSED to sell me a fresh quarter of bbq chicken, which was already on display......and secondly because they don't listen! I have said NO SALT, yet they keep assaulting my chips! That's no way to run a successful business. If you already have the customers, listen to what they want and do your best to keep your customers happy..... Otherwise, like my family, they'll go elsewhere.
