Had a family get-together and everything was very enjoyable . very friendly and accommodating.I had surf and turf , Ribeye and stuff sole.The chef and owner check on us to ensure all was well and that we enjoyed our time together and to make sure the food was to our liking.Just beware this gentleman speak 4 different languages so don't try to slip something by him🤗

Listen..... I know "5 stars" might be a little ridiculous, considering all of the Michelin rated chefs and restaurants out there (that I've never eaten at) ... However, this is seriously THE BEST FOOD AT A RESTAURANT IN PA, D.C., NEW YORK, OR JERSEY, THAT I'VE EVER HAD. My father and I were in Torrington to pick up a piece of machinery. We stayed at the hotel right next door (basically...). The prices were expensive, but not more expensive than anywhere else we've ever been. And the food... man it was worth every single penny. We left with a second meal(leftovers). The portions were fantastic. So considering the size of the meal (and the amazing quality!), and considering you probably will get leftovers out of it, the price was excellent. I had the lobster ravioli, and there were CHUNKS of lobster. We have a well known local seafood supply near us in scranton that we love (Southside seafood - for those interested seriously amazing fish) and these were way better the best I've had and freshly made (not taking anything away from s.s. their product is always stellar!) MY dad got the Mediterranean fish. It was enough for 2 people that were "starving"!(as well as delicious) i was stuffed after 3 or 4 of the ravioli, my father could barely eat 1/4 of what he was served... I read the reviews and was somewhat skeptical. But not after that meal. (We also had salad, drinks and 2 soups and n appetizer of grilled shrimp risotto, all were amazing.) It's worth the 4 hour drive and I am writing this review about a month later only because I am recalling how good it was! Seriously, great job to Sarah, our server. The cooks/ chef and owner... I'll NEVER FORGET THE FOOD I received in my random one night stay in Torrington. Seriously. Go there. Tell them not to rush if you think im making this up.(I'll feel bad if you aren't as pleased with your meal. All the pasta seemed like it was made that day, including my ravioli and the care for freshness and authenticity truly showed.) I'll be eating there again, even if I have to make up an excuse to drive to Connecticut, and pay 100 bucks for a hotel room. I was truly, honestly, floored by how good the meal was. Dine with confidence!

Food is hit or miss. Some dishes are fine, edible. Some dishes are 4-stars (reserving 5-stars for fine dining). Decor tips the scales down on the rating. Were the valences left behind when Friendlys moved out of the space? The tile floors probably were... and the bright ceiling lights as well. Go for an affordable family dinner, not for a romantic higher-end dining date.

We stopped by on a Sunday night to grab dinner and the experience was really nice. Good atmosphere, welcoming employees, and quick service. We ordered roasted garlic bread with mozzarella cheese which was amazing. For meals we got fettuccine Alfredo and added chicken, delicious sauce and chicken was so good. Vodka sauce pasta was by far my favorite thing, best one I’ve had in a while! Overall great restaurant.

Great restaurant with a great atmosphere. You can feel the passion that the family puts into providing quality service and tasty food. My favorite dish is the penne a la vodka; it’s the best that I’ve ever tasted. Definitely a good destination for a night out.

Food was delicious! Atmosphere a bit odd, as the floor is open. There are no partitions or anything. All diners are in complete view of each other. Food was delicious! Plenty of variety on the menu! The bill was a little more than expected, but the portions are very generous, and we also got some apps and drinks, as well as dessert. Would have given an extra star for slightly better service. Our server was very pleasant, but it seemed like they need a bit more help. I'd go again, maybe for some lighter fare and a beer.

Great Italian food and service. I've never had a bad meal at LaCucina.

Passed by many times “Italian Friendly’s” and then popped in tired of the same ol’ same ol’. Very surprisingly excellent, tasty and tasteful. Definitely qualifies as a new “go to”. Food and service were way higher than expected. Try it and see what you think.
