Went there with no expectations. I was pleasantly surprised. The meal was reasonably priced and delicious.

Tonight we visited the Knox tavern to find it extremely noisy. We ordered drinks and two mixed drinks came flat. When the food came I had very cold vegetables and sent it back. They came back with hotter vegetables. The menu has a (V) marked next to the vegetarian options and there was about 7. However, 5 of those were garden salads and 3 of them contained bacon. Most vegetarians don't eat bacon if you don't know. The cost charged for a garden salad was expensive. I am not a satisfied customer and I won't be returning.

Basic pub grub most of which is pretty bland, chips usually arent even crispy. Drinks are pricey especially considering the Bavarian is just around the corner

One of the worst dining experiences ever! We had a large booking of 14 people and not 1 person was satisfied with their meals! Cold chips, over cooked meat and luke warm noodles. Most of the food was inedible! Given how extensive the menu is, it is very disappointing to see only 1 gluten free option, a steak with 1 choice of sauce! How hard is it too include a risotto or other gluten free dish?! Given all the wait staff have to do is bring the meal to the table and take away finished plates you would think this would be hard to suck at - well Knox tavern seem the excel at this. After asking 3 times our plates were still not cleared, and then when our desserts came they couldn't be put down as dinner plates were still there! If it had of been busy we may have understood why there was a delay but given there was only 4 other tables it seems the wait staff are just lazy! The icing on the cake for this dining experience was the atrocious food poisoning I suffered that night and into the next day - avoid this bistro at all cost!!

Absolutely brilliant. The staff were fantastic, the food and service were spot on. We will definitely be back!
