Delicate and well presented food, but disappointing customer service ,unaccomodating staff and uncomfortable seating arrangement.
We came for the spring high tea special, booked for four to celebrate a birthday. We were given one small table, with barely enough space for all our coffee cups. So we requested to be moved to an empty 2 table set up, but they refused to accommodate our request on the basis of clashing reservations. The biggest stab in the back, was that the table was then subsequently occupied by a party of three.
So I didn't understand why we couldn't have been offered those seats and given the option to vacate earlier.
I might have high expectations, but for the price I did expect better customer service. It was advertised unlimited tea/ coffee so I would hope that they would ask if we wanted refills, but instead we had to constantly flag the wait staff for more hot water. No one bothered to ask if we were done before proceeding to clearing the table. No follow ups to how were doing and again no farewells.
As a long time customer, I wasn't overly surprised by the spread as it was repetitive (koi style) : mouse, some element of fruity compote/ jelly for the fruity explosion and a biscuity base. I hope going forward they can be more creative in exploring new dessert elements. For now I tap out.
