Ordered scotch fillet & kilpatrick oyster last time. The scotch fillet was great, met my expectation, and I love the salad bar! Everything was topped up frequently so we will never run out. The kilpatrick wasn't that impressive, bcs the oyster wasn't that fresh and a lil bit smelly. But I understand it was Sunday night, and it wouldn't stop me to give them 5 stars.

Though visit Launceston only once a year, I make it a point to have my meal at Jailhouse Grill. If you are a carnivore, you owe it to yourself to have one of the many varieties of delicious steaks. The Chefs actually know what a 'blue' steak is. The decor is renovated colonial jailhouse and while sad and full of terrible memories, it adds to the overall memorable experience. The dining room is cozy and warm. Its a good place to take visitors to. Be sure to try the local (Tasmanian) wines and beers. Highly recommended. NOTE: Be sure to book ahead, tables are hard to come by in peak times (weekends evenings).

The meal was excellent. The staff very efficient and friendly. A bit pricy but well worth it. Will be dining there again.
