Hochi Mama Richmond

Had our work Christmas dinner at Hochi Mama Richmond. Quality food with fresh ingredients! The Chicken baos, beef ribs and betal leaf prawn bites was on point! friendly staff with a great vibe! Will definitely be back!

A few friends had recommended this restaurant and fair to say I was not disappointed. We opted for the feed me option, ordering 3 large meals, 3 small and 2 sides. Plenty of food at a very reasonable price considering the quality and timeliness. Great vegan options too. We ordered a few cocktails. too which were fab. Will definitely be back.

This is a cute and welcoming establishment upon first glance. I walked in for a super early Sunday lunch, so the place was almost empty, but within an hour, it was buzzing with life, completely packed out with more peeps waiting. It's a popular eatery for sure. The front of house staff were polite and efficient. I think the senior manager was training a couple of new staff in there, clearly she was a professional in her craft, while the younger ones were a bit greener in their waiting skills. I ordered the beef green curry with rice, and a Vietnamese ice coffee to go with it. On first taste, the coffee was ok, I just found it a little light on taste, almost too watery, as I've had this style of coffee before in other places, and the coffee usually is quite a bit stronger. Different folks, different strokes I guess. The beef green curry however, was sublime, so wonderfully tasty, with enough of a kick to make you want to have a little sip of an icy drink for sure, but so full of flavour!! I was thoroughly impressed, and a happy camper with a full belly when I walked out. If I was to critic anything, I'd say, perhaps use a better cut of beef so it's not so 'chewy', and, the bowl of steamed rice could have been a little bigger, as the green curry came in a lovely large bowl, so would be nice to have a slightly larger bowl of rice to accompany all the delicious sauce. I was going to give it a 4-star based on the above, but I reckon, the curry was so bloody delicious, and the manager so super friendly, that it warrants a 5-star, despite the little downfalls. Well done mama, hope you guys will take the above as constructive comments and make it even better when I next visit. Cheers!

Absolutely delicious food! Every dish was full of flavour and was cooked really well. The 35$ lunch option is great value and gives you more than enough food for the price. The cocktails were also super tasty and looked great. Overall this place is amazing, the music was probably a bit loud for a casual lunch and you had to speak up to be heard by anyone.

Passing Hochi Mama a few time and i was like, “ gonna give it a try”, and here we go. The interior is definitely interesting and amazing. Wide open space but doesn’t feel empty. The food serving was pretty quick, we have the lamb curry, pork belly, coconut rice. Lamb was done perfectly, melted in your mouth, it smell nice and taste mild, the sauce are definitely worth you to get another bowl of rice. Pork belly was fine, the skin was crunchy and the sauce with it is a little bit spicy(for me) , give it a little bit of kicked, which is good. Would like to try the cocktail and other dished next time.

Oh the gluttony! Had a great dining experience at this new gem on Swan St, Richmond! Staff were so friendly and accommodating ☺️ Food and beverages were delicious with great music to groove to! Great vegan/vego options too. Ample parking around the area with a tram stop 1 min away! Would definitely recommend booking ahead cause it’s well worth it! Keep up the amazing work guys! We will be back! ☺️

Amazing food, drinks and service!! We opted for the ‘Me Hungry Now’ option for the 4 of us which turned out cheaper and we got to try a lot of dishes on the menu! Drinks weren’t too strong and were super tasty. All the food came out fresh and hot and they were all full of flavour - Sweet, spicy, salty! All the good stuff! It’s the perfect restaurant for drinks with mates or dinner for a special occasion. I highly recommend the Pork Belly Bao, Mama’s Beef Ribs, Betel Leaf Prawn Bites, and the Salmon Ceviche. Cannot wait to come back and try the rest of the items on the menu! What a great establishment.

We had the most memorable night at Hochi Mama, Richmond. From the moment we walked it, we were greeted with great service. The staff were so friendly and the atmosphere was a party! The food was so delicious and amazing value. Definitely going back soon. Thanks for a wonderful night.

Dinner & drinks 1/04/21 Great little place was packed but the staff were very attentive. Food was all great but the scallop dish was the winner will go back just for that alone!

My sister and I had a birthday dinner for 15 people at Hochi Mama Richmond and cannot speak highly enough about Fraser and the crew at Hochi! They couldn’t have been more accomodating and personable, it felt like we were family and they even threw in a birthday surprise. The food was also amazing (goes without saying at Hochi) as were the cocktails. We had the very best time and it was a night to remember, thanks to the guys for accommodating us. Can’t wait to go back to do it again ❤️
