Been going to this restaurant with my family since I was a kid! Some of the best Asian food in Melbourne. My favourite dish is the spicy quale! Try it!

Best Bún bò Huế in Melbourne, the broth is light, refreshing and it certainly presents itself as an alternative to the traditional phở found widely in the area.

Relaxed atmosphere, well designed space, excellent food, friendly service. A unique and refreshing take on Vietnamese cuisine.

This is my family's favourite restaurant in Victoria Street. Their wonton soup is the best I've found in Melbourne.

Melbourne Explorer visited Paper Plate for their grand opening. Situated on Richmond's popular Bridge Road, Paper Plate is bringing a Vietnamese flare to an increasingly diverse foodie hub. An asian inspired cocktail list greets you for dinner. My recommendation is the Mekhong Sour with whisky, citrus, egg whites and cinnamon, or their famous espresso martini with condensed milk and Vietnamese coffee. To start was the caramelised chicken wings, vietnamese crispy pancake, with pork and prawn, and the imperial spring rolls with prawn and pork wrapped in baby oak, fresh herbs, green papaya and pickled carrot with Nuoc Cham. If that wasn't enough, we finished with the caramelised pork belly clay pot with soft boiled egg, green mustard pickle, spring onion and garlic oil. Well worth and visit and we will definitely be back.

Richmond's peeps are in for a treat now that Hochi Mama has set up shop in their hood. Featuring a range of delicious fusion dishes such as Tofu Pad Thai, Betel Leaf Prawn, Salmon Ceviche, Beef Rice Paper Rolls and Hochi Fried Chicken, you'll be spoilt for choice here! Be wowed by the fresh and bright flavours, and don't forget to try the gorgeous cocktail too

We found that when we were eating lettuce that goes with spring rolls. There were tiny little green insects. Yuck.
Looking for the best Pho on Victoria Street, well stop looking. The simple canteen style decor is well worn, and for very good reason. As the focus is on Pho, the menu is not that extensive, but that would not cause complaint. Tea is complimentary on arrival. The stock has a very traditional taste and comes with condiments which allow you to create your own flavour. The pho is served with bean shoots, Asian basil, chill and lemon ($8). The pho comes in beef, chicken, and a variety of offal, with your choice of noodles. Smaller bowls are on offer ($6). A Stewed Beef Pho is also available. Be sure to give the Spring Rolls ($6 x 10) test run, served with Vietnamese mint, iceberg lettuce and dipping sauce with shredded carrot. Very fresh and crisp. Part of the joy of dinning here is constructing the dishes for your own tastes, and it is very economical. Chu can be bustling and service is always fast. It certainly has a good reputation amongst other pho lovers and rightly so. It has been a cornerstone on the strip for years, and it looks like it will be for years come.
