Higher Ground

First place we visited after touching down at the airport. 2nd time I've been here now and it is just always incredible. The food is so tasty with great variety and the venue/location is excellent. Food is reasonably priced and you can get cocktails with your breakfast, coffee was really good also.

Would have been a 5 STAR review, venue was awesome, atmosphere awesome, customer service by front of house staff, brilliant! Love the aesthetic, very cool space. Food was delicious, had the Lamb Fry Up, however, food took 45 minutes. Not really something that goes down too well at such a professional establishment at 11.30am. Not all the tables were occupied. Perhaps a victim of the shortage of hospitality staff in Australia? I’d suggest not taking on as many tables.

Great place for breakfast, amazing atmosphere and very delicious food! It gets quite busy tho so I’d recommend making a booking beforehand :)

Higher ground is such a beautiful space, well laid out, spacious, warm and easy to relax and enjoy in. The staff are friendly and attentive without being in your face which is great. The food menu is all day eating style with breakfast and larger day options, all look amazing. We had the spanner crab egg Benedict and lambs fry and both were spot on, well though out dishes oozing quality ingredients. Coffee was ok but not bad. Definitely worth a visit to check out the food and hype

A real home-y feel, nice ambient lighting with exceptional service and food. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to try the best Melbourne has to offer. The presentation of the food and the service experience adds flare to the already gorgeous and lively servicescape. Would definitely go there again 10/10.

Fantastic inside, built up really well. Got the breakfast gnocchi which was delicious but really small. I think also because so busy the service wasn't the best it could have been.

Delicious food, perfect little gin selection, great service and beautiful aesthetics. Higher ground has always been nice but post-covid the hectic queue that was always extending out the door is gone so you can walk right in. I hope our lovely cafes get busy again, but until then you can enjoy lovely places like this without waiting in a line.

Had an amazing brunch/lunch here at Higher Ground. The food was gorgeous and well presented, so I felt I had to take a picture of their spanner crab Benedict dish. The staff were welcoming and inviting - am very glad I decided to come here.

LOVED our breakfast here! We loved the vibe the old warehouse with a modern twist! The service was top quality. I have allergies and all my concerns were put to ease! Alla and the team were amazing and made the whole dining experience so pleasant! Can't wait to come back!

Their food menu is seasonal and highly instagrammable. Service is great and friendly. Expect long waiting line queuing during peak hours and weekends. Food is on a higher price range however really worth it because the ingredients are fresh and their food tastes delicious and looks pretty 😍
