Excellence!
Good food
We escaped for a weekend away from Victoria, determined to enjoy some local seafood during our stay in Launceston. Set against a beautiful back drop of the setting sun over the water on a gorgeous evening, Hallamβs certainly looked the part as a positive start. The atmosphere warm and welcoming and the decor perfect for a seafood restaurant. Beautifully presented and well thought out, right down to the crayfish hooks in the bathroom and the tiled walls with subtle fish scale pattern. Very clever! The highlights most importantly, were the friendly and courteous staff, as well as the amazing food of course. Our shining light waiting our table was Cassia. Lovely, bubbly, super helpful (particularly with the difficult decision of which delicious dish to choose), informative about the locality, professional and generally fabulous. Thank you Cassia ππ The seafood was mouthwatering and the serves generous. Big, luscious Natural oysters were to die for, the swordfish special was incredibly flavoursome, as was the Bouillabaisse emulsion. Delicious!!π We left happy, well and truly satiated and satisfied that our Tasmanian seafood craving had been fulfilled and then some. The lovely surrounds and staff were a bonus and we genuinely appreciated their hospitality. Thanks again team, youβre the best !!ππ»ππ»ππ»
Stunning prawn entree; followed by a sensational bouillabaisse which was filled with a generous variety and abundance delicious fresh fish with accompanying gentle enhancing flavours. The burnt meringue was to die for. The ambiance was relaxing, comfortable and aesthetically gorgeous. Thank you to the chef and Hallamβs team for a beautiful evening. I canβt wait to return xx
The seafood is really fresh and the environment is good.
Food is very good and wine list is one of the most extensive I've ever seen in a restaurant, but be prepared to pay top dollar. Service for us tonight, was inconsistent. Felt like we were in a blind spot at times, with quite a few "sorry to keep you waiting" statements.
Hallam's last Thursday night beautiful dinner! Cerviche was delicious, Swordfish main was expertly cooked and fantastic with sides of heirloom tomatoes and fat chips, perfect dessert was a raspberry milk dish. Superb meal.
Good venue with amazing views, well heated for winter events. Food was great , service was good and drinks were about normal price
Our experience from start to finish was 5βοΈ Dylan and Ringo provided exceptional service. The food and wine were also exceptional. The atmosphere and surroundings added to the very enjoyable evening. We will return on our next journey and we will thoroughly recommend this restaurant to our friends and family who are travelling through this beautiful part of our country.
Recently visited (sat lunch) and even though it was very quiet, the seafood was extremely fresh. Portion sizes are relatively small and prices are definitely on the high side even compared to Melbourne. Taste was above average but not extremely interesting. I guess the main thing was that it was fresh. Perhaps consider slightly larger serving sizes...
