The Grange Buffet

Friend and I drove 45 minutes to this buffet. We had wanted to try a different buffet than the Casino and RSL ones. This looked to have many items we would enjoy in the pictures we saw from other diners. Unfortunately - looks can be deceiving. At first glance, they had a bit of everything you would want at a buffet. Roast, veggies, Asian fare, rices and desserts. The food was bland, under or overcooked, cold and soggy. There is no way the food would be that cold and soggy after 2 minutes on a plate. The roast was cold, garlic bread hard and stale, Chinese noodles soggy, wet and cold. Veggies were either undercooked or over cooked. The fries were good but unsalted. Dessert station was empty - the items that were there was a brand new pavalova that I tried and couldn't get through the first bite because it tasted so eggy. Apple crumble was good! This buffet is priced well, has all the characteristics to be great but it fell short on the quality of food. Perhaps add some seasonings and regulate temp on food, so that it isn't cold and if a dish or dessert is finished, please replace it. The time we went was 7:30pm so there should have been plenty of food. Going to a buffet having one plate of food and half a plate of dessert, and leaving hungry, really speaks volumes on how much this place needs to improve.

The buffet was absolutely packed. Staff were run off their feet. The food was great but you had to queue for nearly everything.

Elegant environment, cheap and good quality, all kinds of food, you can choose, which makes you linger and forget to return.
