Pretty authentic Asian tastes. A bit pricey, especially their duck soup which was literally broth with 1 piece of meat and 2 pieces of radish. The beef was a bit tough and dry, but the dumplings in spicy oil was perfect. Good option for that part of town.
I had the Friday lunch special. The braised beef noodle soup was absolutely delicious, and a very generous portion for the price. I'm kicking myself for not going here sooner.
Great noodle place with a variety of soup and dry noodles. Generous portions at affordable prices. Highly recommend getting the soup dimplings (xiao long bao) and spicy potato noodle soup.
Decent noodle soup. Has some mild flavours, would have preferred a little more. Service was competent. Beers were a little pricey.
I was walking from Salamanca markets and passed this shop. So I stopped in to try it. I had the pork du plunge was nice. I had spicy lamb it was yummy taste amazing but the lamb had massive bones just wish there was more meat! The meal was nice though
I have been here twice, First time was fried pork with soup noodles. It was good. But second time dry noodles is not good as soup noodles. Will try dry beef noodles later.
The Mala (麻辣酱) spicy wonton soup was amazing when I first had it, but recently it has left me disappointed. The first time I had it, I had never tasted a soup so interesting and delicious, but the last few times it has lacked the true flavours of a Mala spice blend.
Spacious and well-decorated restaurant at the centre of Hobart. Pricing is decent compared to portion. We ordered their signature mild beef noodle, crispy fried pork, and custard buns. Noodle was average since beef was not as tender as we hope and the pepper was too overpowering. I certainly had better noodles in town (for example from Shanghai King Bun on Elizabeth Street). Crispy pork was unremarkable. It was quite obvious that our buns were frozen food rather than freshly made, custard was very bland.
A great restaurant. Excellent noodles: I tried the Monday special and it was very satisfying, not too spicy, and filling. Would happily go back to try more dishes on the menu.
Grandma's noodles is just awesome.Going in there, you feel like you are in some Sichuan city.As soon as you get in,you are greeted by the staff in such a warm manner.I then ordered the Sichuan noodles.Such a hearty and tasty meal. The noodles were just the right temperature. The dish is very hot but you can have it less spicy according to your taste. It has become one of my favourite places.
