234 Collins St Lower Ground Floor, Between Swanston & Elizabeth St 3000, Melbourne
The toilet in the eating area was for "customers only". Erk. Quite a busy place. As well as books and a cafe also had cards, wrapping paper, gifts and miscellaneous stuff like that. May have been magazines but I didn't see them. Easy way to spend a few minutes. Quite a large store just of Collins St. Not many choices for books stores any more....
Mostly strong selection of books here, though lacking in the philosophy and theory department. Politics is mostly categorised as current affairs and doesn't have much of a theoretical focus. Music section could be stronger too, as it mostly contains artist biographies rather than books on music proper. Prices could be a little cheaper, but they're not completely unreasonable. Service is polite and helpful and the shop space is warm, clean and easily navigated.
Wide range of books, big space, from what I could tell the customer service was good, and anyone going there is also nice! Someone else spotted out the book I was looking for which greatly helped me haha. Good atmosphere!
I could find Mandarin books (for learners) and that was of great help! I was looking for any Mandarin book for more than 2 months and they had a lot of options in Dymocks!
First time visit-you go down on an escalator, so get a birds eye view of the store-very good first impression! Store was easy to navigate, knew what I wanted by looking up Dymocks online at home, and they had what is said in stock, very happy 😊 Female at checkout was very helpful and friendly, didn’t catch her name. Highly recommend a visit
A great bookstore with several different categories which would interest most book readers. My only issue is with the prices, as it can be quite pricey at times. But nothing beats walking around and finding something that interests you
Collins Street bookstore with cafe. Love this place, it's a great feeling travelling down the escalator into the books. Huge selection.
I enjoy the staff member on RRR FM every Friday and there are a lot of bargains on the mezzanine. Do not poke baldy when he is up there he bites.
The best place to be lost in time. So many books to explore and not worry about where you have been and where you have to go. An outing for all the family!
Super helpful staff and open to provide recommendations. The atmosphere is especially relaxing, you just get lost in the huge selection of books. Despite the huge range, some books you'll have to order it. But I do love coming back to browse the 'New Release' section. 101 Club is always the same though, which is disappointing.
