Definitely far from the best Thai food out there. Food lacks the pungent strong blend of aromas and tastes that most Thai would have. Feels more like a Chinese vibe going on with the sweet savoury flavours and the service was rather slow. Prices were okay and staff were helpful.

Nice, authentic menu done in the traditional Thai style, not too heavy on the sauces. The lunch menu is affordable with different regional dishes available from about $12.

The customer service at Doytao Thai restaurant was atrocious. We were given a table at 8:55pm on the Sunday of a long weekend 13/6/21 (public holiday Monday). The food came at about 9:20pm and at 9:45 we were told to pay because they were closing. We were ok to pay because we thought they just wanted to close the till and get that out of the way, but 5 minutes later a waitress came in and repeatedly told us we have to leave because 'they wanted to go home'. We asked what time they are advertised to close and the waitress said 10pm, so in effect she was asking us to leave before they were even closed. They were happy to take our money, but didn't want to give us the dining experience. She could see that we were still eating but was still insistent that we should go. We said that if they had told us that we would only have 20-30 minutes to eat dinner when we were waiting for a table, then that would have been fair and reasonable, and we would have gone to another restaurant. As it was, my choices were to eat quickly and deal with indigestion for the rest of the night, or leave the food which was not cheap. When we said that we have a legal right to finish our food, she said we could stay, and apologized, but kept saying 'we want to go home' so it wasn't much of an apology. I always eat in Newtown because we live in St Peters, but will never eat there again; there are plenty of other restaurants in Newtown that are more pleasant to dine in!

The food here was pleasant. Nothing out of the ordinary but certainly tasty and no complaints. Unfortunately the service was a bit lacking. It was efficient enough but totally devoid of genuine interaction and warmth. As an example, when the entrees were served they were basically dumped on the table, not a word said. Might seem like a small gripe, but these sorts of things are what separates a reasonable vs good or great experience.

The food was warming and nicely season. But i guess im looking for more excitement, like spice and a bit saltiness. The service was good too :)

Terrible experience, the order was delivered an hour late and most of the order was also missing. When I call them up to ask about it, they cut the call. I'd highly caution anyone if they choose to order here through delivery. Thankfully uber eats was able to refund us partially.

Absolutely amazing Thai food. Great customer service. Quick home delivery also.
