Cafe Birkenhead

I have been here a number of times, including a wedding many years back. The view is beautiful as always, but the food just did not rise to the same level as the scenery.

Came to this cafe specifically for the vegan big breakfast yet when ordered a rude blond/brunette waitress with an accent abruptly said no, without offering any apologies, explanations or other options. Seemingly its not available yet still on their menu. However they have a vegan lasagna which was absolutely delicious so would still recommend.

My favourite coffee place in the centre. Perfect every time

Had my sister in laws wedding here and can not recommend this enough! The staff were so friendly and accomodating the whole night. Drinks were always being topped up and the food was spectacular. The room itself looked amazing and the view to the water is incredible. Definitely suggest you take a look at Cafe Birkenhead for a wedding.

Great setting but service was slooow and the food unremarkable when it did arrive

We had a wonderful experience at this cafe. The view is gorgeous, and the staff were incredibly friendly. I had the baked sweet potato, and the calamari, and both were exquisite.

Great location but quite a long wait. Food was good.

We had our wedding booked here in November after already moving it once from May. And unfortunately while we would have loved for our wedding to have taken place here Covid restrictions got in the way and we made a decision to cancel. The event manager that assisted us was super accommodating and understanding of the situation, and made what could have been a stressful process for us very easy. Also we have eaten here a few times and the food has always been top notch! No doubt we'll be back to eat here again.

I feel so sad that I have to give this low rating to such a beautiful place. The thing is, just downstairs in the food court you can get a $12 fish and chips and still have the same view from the balcony. I was expecting something much better than the food court. Ambience was beautiful, high tea set up was pretty, but I don't know how to grade the food. They taste good, but the little tea cakes were hard and stale. I requested in the email when I booked 3 days before that we didn't eat pork, but they served the ham sandwich anyway. When it arrived I said we didn't want the pork, the manager said "oh it's ok, we just leave it there, but if you need extra sandwiches just tell us". This is unacceptable and a bit rude.

Lovely place to eat. A little on the expensive side but great service and delicious food. Great sense of space as this old converted warehouse is massive. The jewel in the crown though is the view. Long stretches of it across the west side of Sydney Harbour. Must try if you're in Birkinhead Shopping Centre.
