Bua Thong Armidale

As an avid Thai food fan, I have to say this place is such a gem. The food is very good, very authentic and the portions are huge. The owners are so friendly, nice and honest. When we ordered the food, the owner even worried that we ordered too much, we would not be able to finish all of them. We said it was ok, we could do take away for leftover. In the end we didn't finish even half of the meal so we took it home and have them for dinner the next day and were still full to the brim. We are so impressed with this business and hope that they will do better and better in the future. Unfortunately we are only in Armidale for the Easter holiday and will be back in Brisbane soon. Otherwise we would love to dine there every week just to try out everything on the menu.

HOW IS THIS PLACE NOT TALKED ABOUT AS MUCH??????????? CLEARLY THE SUPERIOR THAI PLACE IN ALL OF ARMIDALE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Serving sizes were PLENTIFUL! Flavours were PERFECT! We had the massaman curry Penang curry Rotis Basil and chilli fried rice Pineapple fried rice Everything was just right ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ and clearly the best thai i’ve had outside of thailand!!!! thank u so much!!!!!!! My housemates and I have found our favourite place to eat at in town :3333

This is the best Thai food in town, probably even the best takeaway in town. The menu isn't overly complicated and the flavours are amazing. The price is also very reasonable with generous serving sizes. The staff are friendly as well.

Really excellent Thai food. I am a fan of Thai food and having family friends who are Thai, one of whom is a Thai chef, means that I have eaten a lot of Thai food. This is a very small restaurant with excellent, genuine service, and great food, and it is pretty cheap too. I haven't tried everything however the things I have tried have been great. I recommend you drop in and give this place a try.

Walked in and was asked what did I want. Answered table for 2 and was grunted at. Husband screamed at wife in thai, presumably discussing if to seat us...was offered a greasy table and left to our own device.... waited to say we changed our minds. He never came back so we left menu on table and left.... giving 1 star because it's not possible to give less and leave a review

Unfortunately not a good experience. The pad thai was bland, flavourless and lacking in meat. The beef salad was swimming in dressing so much so that it could have been a soup, very tough beef too. The entrees were ok. We would not go back.

Best massaman curry I have had outside of Thailand, and that includes Sydney, Brisbane etc. Amazing flavour, tender beef. Also excellent Thai style bbq pork and the pad khee mao was served Thai spicy, as requested. Serving sizes are massive compared with Sydney Thai restaurants, and the prices are low. This isn't a flashy restaurant - it's family owned, and has efficient, low key service to match. Go for the food, which is excellent.

Unpretentious place run by a hardworking husband and wife team. Best Thai in Armidale. Not overly sweet, or adjusted too drastically to suit the boring anglo palate.

Food very tasty but dining area exceptionally unclean surprising in Covid times that hygiene appears to be neglected. Did takeaway. Needs a major scrub!
