1830 Restaurant and Bar

We recently had dinner with you guys during our honeymoon. If you recall, we told you your food and service were the best we'd seen while in Tasmania. Well, we've finished our trip now and you were not topped... and we did have some great food in amazing spots. You guys are committed and passionate and it showed in both your service and the plates that arrived in front of us. Thank you for giving us a memory we both won't forget. Jeff and Bec.

Fabulous dining experience. Food was exceptional! One of the best during our Tasmanian holiday. We visited 1830 as part of the Port Arthur ghost tour and would fly back to Tassy for this little gem!

Best steak in Tassie and great service

You would need x-ray vision to take in the advertised sweeping views of the historic site due to being overgrown with trees. The dining area has all the charm of an underground train station cafeteria. Ticket sales are right outside with people standing in line able to look through the floor to ceiling glass, giving one the feeling of dining in fish bowl. If you are expecting anything more than expensive restaurant priced food, you will be disappointed.

The best steak I have ever had! Delicious food, great view and friendly staff

On the pricy side for some things on the menu, but definitely worth it. Atmosphere is up market but relaxed, staff are top notch and very friendly. Food is superb. 1830 is very child friendly for will behaved kids. We ordered steak, bacon and prawn pizzas and kids meals. Steak was perfectly cooked. Pizzas are generously proportioned (pro tip they're perfect for sharing with someone with a bowl of chips). Kids meals were huge and great value for $12!

Delicious food, attentive staff and the fine dining we were searching for in Tasmania. The lamb was cooked to perfection and the view of Port Arthur was awesome. Thank you for a yummy and romantic dinner.

Beautiful presentation and location but food was bland except for 1 condiment which was way too spicy (we love spicy, but this level didn't match the dish)

Pretty good food. Nice staff and atmosphere . Allowed us to make a change to the menu. Clean and tidy.
