Crown Entertainment Complex 8 8 Whiteman Street, Southbank

Went for a special lunch with my wife, disappointed to say the least. Table space for two having yum cha was ridiculously small, by the time you have all the condiments, cutlery, a couple of glasses of water and the very nice heated towels on the table eating yum cha becomes difficult. The crowding of the table resulted in me spilling my $10 glass of wine, which the staff were only to happy to fill, providing I paid for it. On questioning the waitress on the deal on the sandwich board at the front of the restaurant, I was meet with a vacant look, I escorted her to the front were the sandwich board was and miraculously she then recall that the special was for 10 or more guests. Ordered some yum cha, don't even bother, not sure how you can forget the salt & pepper on "Deep Fried Squid in Salt Pepper" ? Disappointing to say the least. As for the dumplings a similar experience can be had by buying some frozen dumplings from Coles, steaming/pan frying them and your nearly there. In summary there's a lot of other Chinese restaurants worthy of patronage.

Really nice bar to sit and chat with friends. Music turns significantly louder at 9pm we've learnt, but it's a fun place to go. Waiting staff are really helpful in getting you served quickly if you have a table, and will keep you remained seated while they get your drink orders.
