Fast and cheap and very high quality!

Hakata Gensuke QV
4.2
/ 359

200 Lonsdale St Constance Stone Lane 3000, Melbourne

Yes, you saw the queue and how small and packed the place is. You're intrigued, you queue for 20 mins but is it worth it? From all the ramen places in Melbourne, Hakata Gensuke might be my favourite. The broth is amazing, the chicken chasiu is amazing, and the noodles are perfect! Sadly, the QV branch does not serve their pork ramen (might be good because they're focusing on just one kind of broth). But still, it is DELICIOUS! A MUST TRY!

Grand Lafayette

9 Clifton st, Prahran 3181, Melbourne

*Review is for dinner, Japanese food* Amazing. Beautifully plated like a fine dining restaurant, amazingly yummy food. Absolutely delicious. Service was great. The baked scallops, Angus steak, tempura cooked tune maki was especially memorable. The bao was probably the weakest. If I had to nitpick, I think the torn, scribbled, oil stained menu was a bit below expectation but ultimately didn't really matter.

I came here without a reservation, but still got a table, service and owner was very nice showing us how to order because it was our first time, we ended up ordering the set menu promotion for 160 for 3people, pretty filling, good quality cuts of wagyu and sashimi, and soft shell crab was delicious, i would go again!!!!!

Shoya

25 Market Lane 3000, Melbourne

spent $345 for three people, it's bit pricey, however the food was good, a fusion of Japanese and French cuisine. sampled 7 entrees including, Foie gras, toro, ect and the main meal was melt in your mouth wagyu beef. the main was a real delight, with a sweet red wine sauce, with some truffle on top, I have my steak medium rare and it melt in my mouth, truly heaven... too bad, I can't go often as it is a bit out of my price range but will go back for special occasion, oh, the service was superb!

Brim CC Japanese Organic Cafe

U 2 601 Little Collins St 3000, Melbourne

Brim CC Japanese Organic we decided to go there for a late breakfast 10.30 am they open at 10 there is construction going on in the street so the ambience is not great but this is more than made up for in the great food and friendly service. I had the HALF CURRY & rice + Soup SET --- $12.50 it was the chicken curry really good with miso soup made with lots of veges and meat balls delish. My wife had the Tokyo Bento --- $12.00 Rice balls, Meatball, potato salad w/Japanese mayo, traditional carrots and egg plant & tofu w/sweet miso Not only did this look fantastic it tasted fantastic 10 out of 10. We liked it that much we had to go back the next day and shared the Buckwheat Pancake (Gluten Free) --- $8.00 + With sauteed Organic summer veges + With Organic Fruits and honey (as sweets) The Pancake with veg was huge taking up almost all of the plate covered with Japanese style veg it was very good. The fruit pancake though not as big was very tasty and wonderfully sweet. We also had the Japanese tea on both occasions having never tasted this before it is a treat for the senses very different almost a sort of meaty after taste. The service was very friendly and helpful. We would defiantly recommend that you try Brim CC Japanese Organic.

Bincho Boss

383-385 Lt Bourke Street 3000, Melbourne

Had a lunch catch up with friends on a rainy Tuesday. Found this new open Japanese restaurant, and their food is Amazing! The chef is Japanese (we sat next to the kitchen and I heard they talking in Japanese) The Veggie Hotpot is perfect for a cold temperature. To my surprise they can make a veggie hotpot so tasteful, which I could never do at home. Seafood Udon Lunch set, such a balance. Couldn’t resist some Cheese cake even at lunch and the tea highlights the taste, but forgot to ask them what the tea was. Btw their service is good too, they always pay attention to the guests. Glad we chose this restaurant and highly recommended!
