Fabulous Food. The Navoro's Italian restaurant is situated in a Victorian terrace house, with an inauspicious exterior. The interior has dark olive walls, beautiful jewel toned Axminster carpet, with a stunning lead light, light shade to match. In the entrance way there is a fabulous Italianate chest, and above a very ornate gilt mirror and Victorian plaster archway, with modern art work on the Walls, creating a warm intimate romantic ambience. We started with an appetizer; A bowl of warm green table olives and Ligurian olives, with marinated Matham farm goats cheese. With a local sparkling wine, very appetizing. We then chose to share, the chefs suggested kitchen taste dishes; Local fresh tomatoes with buffalo mozzarella, fresh basil, balsamic vinegar and tomato essence. The tomatoes were fresh & exceptionally flavorsome; A thinly sliced Westcoast octopus with ruby grapefruit, dill and red wine vinaigrette dressing. A stunningly creative combination; Then a finely diced fillet of venison with white onion, chili, baby capers, and extra pure virgin olive oil. Served with free range raw egg and croutons. Accompanied with an 04 Summit Chardonnay Piper Valley Tas. Different and extremely tasty. A smoked pear and mozzarella ravioli with a butter and sage sauce. Absolutely delicious; accompanied by an unusual salad of raw beetroot, pear, pine nuts, and goats cheese. This was an excellent salad. Then followed by, a Granny Smith Apple sorbet. Mains, we shared a Flinders Island Green lipped Abalone sautéed in white truffle oil with Swiss brown mushrooms, potato slivers and home made pasta. Masterfully prepared and presented. For texture and taste, this dish would be difficult to beat; Fresh pan seared Rannoch Farm quail, with table grapes and a verjuice and sage reduction. With a Clare Valley Pinot Gris, absolutely first class. Desserts; A Vanilla cream in a chilled watermelon soup, and a raspberry Brûlée, a twist on a classic. This for us was a dining experience, that would be difficult to forget. Excelling, in Taste, Presentation. Technique, Ingredients, Consistency and Creativity. Made for a complete dining experience. Not surprisingly this restaurant is the winner of several prodigious awards.

A gem of affordable and delicious food in Launceston. We found it after walking down the gorge and into town (don't miss a swim in the gorge by the way). We had vegetarian burritos that were seriously good, making a perfect lunch after coming out of the gorge.

Food was decent, but expect a wait. Still a little disorganised.
