Crustaceans
4.0
/ 396

Stokes Hill Wharf 800, Darwin

I was keen to sample the local but instead got imported and frozen. Oysters from SA, Moreton Bay bugs, lobster from far north Qld and no mud crab…disappointing. The highlight of the menu was the crumbed Barramundi which was indeed sourced locally…that and the mangos. I think we just got unlucky with little catch of the day. Service though was top notch run by a family.

Woolworths
4.0
/ 388

159 Dick Ward Dr, Nightcliff

I don't get out much, but this trip to Woolworths Nightcliff was other-worldly. I'm not sure how much of it was just Christmas fever, but everything was next-level. After stepping one foot into the store I was offered a piece of chocolate cake. Instinctively I politely declined (assuming grocery shopping is an activity not to be enjoyed), and I've never regretted anything more since. They have a neat little cafe, and even a sushi bar! Deluxe! The aisles are deliciously wide and at one point a staff member randomly gave me a handful of Freddo Frogs. (Granted, that could have been because I was holding a baby at the time.) I still don't like Woolworths in general on principal, but this was a life (slightly overstating it) changing experience.

The Deck Bar
4.2
/ 297

22 Mitchell St 800, Darwin

The best thing about The Deck bar is their consistency. Friendly staff, TERRIFIC food, and great entertainment. The don't do the same thing over and over again, they take a genuine interest in entertaining their customers by engaging in a wide range of activities. We hosted a 21st birthday in Octover 2013 and the team at The Deck Bar literally could not have done more to make the event a success. Right from the get go the booking was straight forward, the decorations were fantastic and the whole team looked after the party throughout the night. I would highly recommend the Deck Bar for any party or function, terrific place to bring clients for lunch and great venue to enjoy an evening out with friends.
