Speak-easy style cocktail bar. The cocktails are good and the atmosphere is cozy

Perfect setting overlooking the beach, lovely food and great happy hour drink deals. Pretty spacious inside, so you have a good chance of bagging a table.

Awesome dumplings, I've become addicted to momo! Definitely worth trying when you're in Manly.

Myself and a few others decided to walk along the shore at Manly on a Saturday night looking for a place to stop and have dinner. The place we were originally going to dine at had a one hour wait for a table, so we went just a few doors away to the Bluewater Cafe, and we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were probably some of the friendliest and genuine people I have come across in a long time serving at a restaurant. This was amazing in itself as more often than not I get the impression from servers that they really do not want to be wherever it is that they are working. One of our party was unable to eat garlic, and the staff were very accommodating to her needs both within and without of the kitchen. The meals were expensive for the portions, but I understand that one must pay for the location, even though it was night-time and you could not actually see the beach or the water. I had a gnocchi that was reasonably priced and was quite generously portioned, whereas my dinner companions ordered fish dishes that were more expensive and were quite small portions. Overall the food was pretty good. Not so amazing that I'd rave about it to everyone, but still quite a good meal. The bathrooms were... odd, tiny rooms with the urinals positioned strangely so that, if you're not prepared when you walk in, you're likely to get a face full of genitals because the first urinal (and there are only two) is right next to the door as you enter. Just a heads up. Overall I was pretty impressed by the whole experience. Had the staff not been as friendly and accommodating I might have struggled to give it 4 stars based solely on the food, but for me, friendly staff can make all the difference.

The best fish, calamari and chips I have eaten anywhere. The food is cooked fresh to order and is superbly priced. I enjoyed it so much I went 3 days in a row, travelling from the CBD!

Fantastic Service and great value. I really enjoyed the selection of music too!

What a fantastic new venue on the beachfront. 3 levels to choose from, casual dining on ground, restaurant to come on level 1, plus a roof top, open air bar. Organic and biodynamic wines. Great small and share plate options, with some larger Italian based mains and pizza on ground floor. Island bar, great for solo travelers on the roof top and an extensive cocktail list. Note: The staff were super accommodating with prams and wheelchairs. Lift in-house. Disabled bathroom.

Food is pretty good and they have a good little grocer that is, albeit, a bit expensive. I grabbed a yummy big tub of coconut yogurt and a nut milk bag which I was very happy with. Service is friendly but slow. I didn't enjoy the atmosphere very much - quite dark and cold. There's no sunshine in the morning.

Whitewater is aways busy, but we managed to grab a table outside on the provision that we vacated within 2 hours when it was needed for anther reservation. The team there were very accommodating to the 2 kids we had with us, servers were friendly and made good recommendations, and I'd definitely go back.

Firstly it's great to see this restaurant reopen in a superb spot overlooking the harbour. Whilst we were really impressed with the service the overall food was just not good enough. My T-bone steak was the smallest I have ever seen and served with a dollop of potato and rather bizarrely a piece of lemon. It was something you might get served by your mother to which you would smile sweetly rather than at a nice restaurant. My wife had the snapper and whilst it was cooked well, lacked any sauce and was accompanied with some rather bland slice radish and parsley. The signature pavlova dessert was excellent however. In terms of wines the Chandon rose we had was very good and not unreasonable at $55 but the wine list lacks a breadth of range at the $45-$60 mark I.e. Go for the "house " or it gets too expensive. Which is mis aligned with the overall bistro pricing level. So in summary, ambiance, views, service - great. Food needs more work. I give this review to support the new owners to get their act together early here. We really want to go back time and time again with friends as it's a lovely spot but the food needs to be better in terms of both quality and presentation.

The Funghitown pizza is definitely up there with the best I have had in Sydney.

Benbry burgers are awesome! Really good quality for a fast food chain. A friend told me it was the best and I was sceptical until I tried it... so good. very similar to ferg burger in Queenstown for those who have tried it. A little more expensive than most fast food but well worth it.

Recently went to Sake for a birthday dinner. There were 10 of us so we had a private room and the set menu which is $88pp (you can't go ala carte if you have a group) - we had prebooked and paid a deposit. Our booking was for 8.30pm - which in many parts of Sydney would mean it was starting to get quiet - but was packed at Sake. The food was lovely so if I was just rating that, it would get a really high rating - really enjoyed the wagyu beef and the popcorn shrimp. Wine selection was also good. The order that the food was served in was a little bit odd - the miso came at the end, about 15-20minutes after we'd finished everything else. We asked about that and were told that miso was served at the end in Japan - might be worth the restaurants while explaining that to customers who aren't used to that earlier, it would have been a nice service touch to have someone explain the menu and order at the start. The reason for only rating Sake "Ok" is the service. Sake clearly hadn't staffed enough for the volume of people they had - really the 3 private rooms should have the waitress just dedicated to them rather than trying to manage the broader dining room as well as ours was. For example, when we asked for 2 beers, we had to reiterate the request on 2 more occasions before it finally arrived about 20 minutes after originally requested - we also had to chase for further drinks. We also had to request the bill several times before it arrived. For a group, a service charge is a required payment from the restaurant and automatically listed on your bill - we did end up disputing this and the restaurant did remove the charge without much question - it was interesting that afterwards we read writeups in the Good Food Guide and it even mentioned in there that service was poor unless you have "Japanese Elvis" - so there is a published book referencing issues with service but Sake still is having problems in this area.
The food and drinks were amazing.. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Try the taco, the dessert 'burger' and the strawberry cocktail.
