West Thebarton Hotel

Good renovated front bar with excellent food specials and lots of craft beer. Nice selection of pokies in sports bar at back (which can be a bit dated but that's part of the charm). House wines are excellent and very good value. $5 cheeseburger special outstanding. Quiz night Tuesday.

Nice little bar and friendly staff

Went in for lunch during the week. Barmaid was surly to the point of rudeness. I was the only person there, still took nearly half an hour to get my burger and chips. Perhaps because the chef was sat at the bar with the surly barmaid. Unimpressed.

Stopped for dinner Sunday night in the front bar. Best beef schnitzel I've had in ages. Friendly staff.

Never went into the pub

I am shocked by the appalling service I received at the West Thebarton Hotel. I will never return here, nor will I ever recommend it to anyone. The manager was incredibly rude and passive aggressive to the group I went with, we were all taken aback by how unfriendly he was. This manager made numerous snarky comments that made us feel so unwelcome and pushed us to want to leave early. He also made a derogatory comment to my friend about being gay. I am truly disappointed in this pub. I didn’t spend a cent there as I was so infuriated by the way he treated the group. He had such a nasty attitude, many of us discussed how we will never return. I honestly can’t express my anger about my experience with this pub enough. Don’t go here. It’s not worth your money. The manager is an absolute vibe killer from the get-go.

Visited the other week and found the member of staff working at the craft beer bar to be unfriendly and unwelcoming from the get go. He proceeded to make inappropriate and offensive comments on several occasions to various members of our group - at one point he grabbed and put his arm around one member of our group and held him there in an incredibly hostile and off putting manner. The whole experience was uncomfortable to say the least and we ended up leaving early. Other members of staff were lovely, however this one member of staff created a very unpleasant experience for all of us so we will definitely not be returning.
