Vinden Wines

Vinden Estate is truly a magnificent homestead. Every little detail has been meticulously thought of. Angus and Hannah were attentive hosts. The property is so beautiful that we ended up spending more time at Vinden than we planned as we wanted to enjoy and soak up this beautiful experience. Highly, highly recommend this as the ultimate Hunter escape.

Had a wonderful time here. Angus, the wine maker took the time to sit down and take us through a number of his wines. His experimental wines played with flavours that I wasn't very familiar with but they were exceptionally well crafted and I really enjoyed my time here. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone who is after quality wines and something a little left field. Their dogs are pretty cute too. Will be back!

The reputation is already made but to keep it and to stay humble as they do is not an easy thing. My experience was so nice, exactly what you can expect from a true wine tasting. Nathalie was welcoming and make you feel quickly comfortable. Their wines are solides and tailored like artisanal products. You can taste the passion and the details in every wine. Last weekend my partner and I did a great tasting here with one of the knowledgeable Vinden staff, Alana. Exemplary wines, beautiful light-filled space and impeccable service. The wines were varied, interesting and well made with passion. We bought a couple of bottles (semillon and syrah) which we are keen to enjoy at home! This place is a hidden gem, highly recommend a visit and the homestead next door looks like a lovely accommodation option too! We'll be back :)

Not a fan unfortunately. Did a private tasting here was $10 per head which is fine but the wines were all 2020 /2021. Our group are all wine drinkers and no one enjoyed this experience & the wines themselves were terrible. We couldn't hear what was being said about the wines. We didn't get the usual smiling Hunter Valley cellar door cheer and welcome feeling at Vinden at all, actually felt quite pretentious. This one was not for us.

Absolutely lovely setting for a great wine tasting. Enjoyed the experience host Fred who talked us through the wines.

Had the pleasure of Angus (the wine maker) running our tasting. Interesting experimental wines as well as solid traditional wines. A lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend.

This place truly exceeded our expectations! By far the best wines in the Hunter Valley with all wines being made with grapes from the Hunter which if you’ve visited, you know it’s rare. The cellar door is stunning, light and bright with beautiful views. Alana was fantastic, extremely knowledgeable and a great host! We were recommended by a few people not miss this vineyard and it did not disappoint. In a group of 4 we all walked away with a mixed box of 6 and cannot wait to enjoy these wines at home! Will definitely be back!

Wine - Angus is living his best life, and he’s letting us share it. The passion he brings to the way he lives his life is literally bottled in his wines. Don’t think you know what you’re getting just by reading the tasting menu, there’s nuance and complexity at every turn. Cellar Door - Absolutely stunning interiors, considered but not overthought. Wishbone chairs you could spend a day in, with a wall of west-facing French doors to capture the radiant afternoon light as it breaks through the gums. Play pétanque with a glass and pat the beautiful German pointer and she roams around. This venue is an experience it itself. You can’t come to the Hunter without a visit. Be kicking yourself if you miss out.

We were here recently with a group of friends, and were disappointed from the get go with the service. The outlook is faultless, the wines were definitely experimental, but the service was the stand out - and not in a good way. It definitely tainted our visit.
