Hello, I purchased 5 Stawberry plants on Sat 26-9 . I was given them in a plastic bag. When I got home I found the roots bone dry, the tiny bit of green was appearing to be dying. Can you confirm if the will shoot and grow. I put them in damp soil .

Hi John, The runners we have at the moment have very little top with only the crowns above the roots. These should be moistened and planted into wet soil and then watered regularly overhead until they set out roots and find the soil moisture. They should show signs of life in the next week or so and then they will grow quickly in these lengthening days. If you have trouble, drop in and I will give you some plants we have in pots that have established tops. Good luck with them once they establish they should be fine and give you strawberries for Christmas.
