The Plough Hahndorf

The cafe was empty except one table. We decided to go and order coffee and tea because we had had our lunch and wanted somewhere to wait for 20 minutes. The owner came 5 minutes after our tea arrived and told us that the table is reserved and we will have to leave. We asked there were many empty tables, if we could sit on those. He said " You have been here for 30 minutes" - which was not true because we had to be somewhere on time and we only had 15-20 min. Anyway, we decided to leave our tea and the cafe. My husband even politely said we will be back to try some meals another time - at the time of the order. if the cafe was busy, we would totally understand but it was all empty. There was only one table that was occupied. This was a strange experience and we will never be returning back. We want to be able to enjoy our meal and drinks, not be forced out of the cafe. Moreover, we went past and the tables were still empty. I was thinking of buying some breads, but of course not after this behaviour. Never going back.

Cosy little place with live music on Friday nights. Alan the owner generously gave my friend a taster size of Guinness on the house even after I'd already ordered one to try. He and his wife are very friendly and ever ready for a chat. Delicious stew, chowder, and bread,generous portions. A little slice of Ireland.

We had breakfast here this morning. Excellent tasty unpretentious food. It’s an interesting Cafe with lots of memorabilia and good atmosphere. Nice coffee The owners are a very nice, friendly Irish couple.

Great Irish pub/restaurant. Fantastic food, especially the Irish stew. The family who own it are ready friendly and helpful people. Try the Guinness it's beautiful

Quaint & warm little cafe. Excellent service. Beautiful food and coffee. Brilliant traditional Irish live music on Fridays. Best potato salad I've ever eaten & lovely Irish stew. Yummy sweets too & housemade breads & fruit loaf to buy take home. I'll be back to work my way through the menu & sweets.

Such a lovely spot! The atmosphere was wonderful, service fantastic and the food amazing. The irish stew was such a wholesome warming meal! Could not recommend this place more!
