The Pie Shed

The standard pies here are...standard. I was after a rabbit pre but the serving lady said they did not have any. I asked what day I could expect them to be on the menu (as that is why I traveled 14km) and she said "who knows!" If this lady is the owner, her response and attitude potentially just lost a genuine pie lover. If she is an employee she is not doing a very good job of representing her place of employment. Oh...If you buy the meal deal you save nothing. The chips and drink are charged at same rate regardless. Today I went for the peppered steak pie, chips and a coke... $10

For how great the shop looks on the inside, the pies here's are a real disappointment. I bought a chunky beef pie and an apple pie. To my dismay the pastry was soft and chewy and only just warm, although the beef filling wasn't too bad. The apple pie came completely cold and I had to reheat it at home, again the pastry was subpar and the filling was a strange jelly that only tasted vaguely of apples.

The pie shed has Delicious pies pasties as you'd expect, there is a fantastic range to choose from, they also do nice coffee etc. Here is the surprise you didn't expect, it has a drive through, pretty amazing and not expected. my family and I really enjoy the food from here and highly recommend you give them a try. Just had a very tasty Chunky Beef and Cheese pie and a latte made with the level of excellence you'd expect to see in the finest coffee shops in Melbourne! The staff were absolutely charming and very attentive. This is no run-of-the-mill pie shop! I'll be a regular, for sure. One of the very many excellent eateries around Bayswater. We are lucky :)

Business has gone downhill, after two visits recently, one through drive through and the other seated inside... on both occasions the pies that i used to purchase and were amazing are now old chewy meat, cardboard like pastry and overall a really poor experience. The new management had better listen to their customers or they will not be returning.. also prices have increased even with the quality going down!

Recent changes to the staff (possibly sold to new owners?) have resulted in a significant drop in the quality of the food. The pies are just okay now with many of the local bakeries doing pies just as well or better. Given this is their speciality, I would expect better and it used to be much better.

Very pleasant afternoon tea today for Family Celebration. The staff are lovely and only too willing to please. The food standard and service was excellent and the new owners are to be congratulated for retaining all the character of the Business that the former owners had established, that our family and the locals have enjoyed for many years. They have excelled. The standards are absolutely equivalent.

Just ordered a sausage roll and pie and horrendous is an understatement! Half the sausage roll in the bin as its filling was anything but sausage and one bit of the pie and it too wen tin the bin. The mushroom taste was extremely over powering and had a strange smell to it. My wife ordered a pie without mushroom and her entire pie went in the bin because it was full of mushrooms. $15 down the toilet and now off to Subway. Will never go there again.

Incredibly overpriced and next to no meat. If you like paying $7.50 for gravy in pastry, then this is the place for you. Just remember, you've been warned. P.S Check the sites like Zomato etc for a better representation of people's experiences with the Pie Shed.
