The Loose Caboose Cafe Hindmarsh

The environment is great, lots of green plants in it, making sitting inside very soothing. They also have covered outdoor space too. The staff is very patient and friendly. I really like the pork salad she recommended. It has everything in it: crispy potato with tender pork which melted in your mouth instantly; the egg was a bit running which made the dish not too dry; apple slices gave the dish a touch of sweetness and freshness (not too sweet which was good 😛). Thanks for this great experience.

Service and food were excellent. We arrived an hour before closing on Easter Saturday, they seated us quickly and took our orders. Food came fast and it gave us plenty of time to eat without feeling rushed. All the staff were super friendly. Plus they did some Easter bunny coffee art, which is always an easy way to please Melbournians :)

This place is located in a very convienent location where you have a lot of car park & it's quite cozy around this place.... The Ambience is very refreshing & even the breakfast n brunch is really great... We do get wine & beers served too... Overall a very good place to be with your family n friends too..

The food was great, but the service was terrible. We were kicked out in less than 2hrs despite 1) having had a booking, 2) three quarters of the tables were empty, and 3) it was well before noon. The very grumpy and unfriendly waitress at least split the bill among 5ppl for us saying she'd do it this once, otherwise it would have been 1 star.

Really friendly customer service and our breakfast tasted great! Massive serving sizes and great coffee too. The trains rumbling from underneath added a cool effect to the loose caboose history.

Food is pretty awesome.. nice sitting area... sparkling water... coffee is a hit or a miss and you can't just have coffee

A Very disappointing and embarrassing experience. I do not recommend this place. The staff would not split the bill between two couples. All we wanted was the pay 50/50. They also charged a surcharge for using a credit card plus another surcharge for being on a public holiday. When asked if I could have tomato with my eggs, they refused and said they don’t serve it, however my wife had a different meal that had tomato included. When asked if we could have a chair with a back they refused and only provide a stool due to “ heritage reasons”. Think twice if you want to have a pleasant breakfast with friends.

Always go for the pork dish here. Sauce is amazing and the potatoes are crunchy. Pork might be bit dry in certain parts of it, depends on how fatty the cut is.. The fattier the better always. But it's your luck! Scrambled eggs also yummy.

Lovely setting but the food is not family friendly. Smoothies contained ginger, despite the menu not. Could not drink them they were too thick and had too much pineapple. Reasonable sized chip serving yet a teaspoon of tomato sauce 🙁🙁🙁

Real proper Chai! 😍 food also fabulous. Love the building and decor!
