The Italian Place

Great night with friends.

The Italian place is nice cozy restaurant that makes you feel like you’re in Italy! The lively, busy and uplifting atmosphere is really something unique. All the staff are super hardworking and try their best to assist you navigating the menu. We had a range of dishes from the seared scallops to beef steaks, pork fillets and squid ink pasta. I would say that all the dishes were cooked nicely, the flavours were nice and presentation not bad. Though most of the dishes were too salty for our liking which might have been a one off occurrence. But overall a recommended place for catch up with friends or a special occasion.

Checked lunch in my area and found this little gem. The portion sizes were perfect, the balance of flavours and fresh pasta meant that this was the best carbonara I've had since visiting Rome 5 years ago. The staff were busy but attentive, a pleasant experience that I will repeat

Don't worry I did not eat all these desserts, they were for the people around me, but they were so amazing I had to take a snap. I loved the place, loved the staff who were totally organised in sorting out gluten free bread & a gf main for me, food was superb as was the service. Lots of choices, lots of fun - maybe it was the crowd i was with!

This place has Italian groceries, takeout coffees, and sweets. Specially, ‘Sicilian Cannoli’ seems to be delicious than other places. And a chocolate bun was another joy of relaxing autumn afternoon. Definitely recommended!

WOWWWW MY BEST MEAL YET IN CANBERRA!!! firstly the service was amazing, we got there early and they were happy to let us start drinking. Wow the pasta is the stand out, we shared two entrees and 4 mains between three because we couldn’t miss out. It was all amazing and the chefs were fabulous. I’ve just moved to Canberra and I’ll be back 1000x times!!! Thanks for the Fantastic service and the homemade and authentic Italian food!

Such a lovely experience! Amazing hospitality, service and food! The owner is such a humble and entertaining. Would recommend!

The atmosphere is lovely. When they served berads with Italian condiments I knew we were on a winner. But there was something about the oil that wasn't quite right. The pastas are spot on in flavour. We enjoyed the deserts. But the coffee - definitely not Italian.

The Italian Place never disappoints. While the menu is no extensive every dish is simple but spectacular. A foodie sensation. Tony and the staff are friendly, attentive and very welcoming. The restaurant is has a relaxing atmosphere. You can't have a trip to Canberra without a night spoiling your self with a night out at The Italian Place. Thanks Tony and Evelyn for another fabulous dining experience.

Eat most of the selection on offer. the Blue eyed Cod (every fresh and naturally flavoured), Cabonara was a bit cold so the cream had gone hard, antipasto wonderful because the seasonal vegetables were perfectly cooked very lightly flavoured, Salad🥗 Apple 🍏 and palmasan crispy, I prefer Lamb shanks on the bone however slow cooked very nice, pasta fungi exceptional. Main criticism was that the menu was limited to choose a wide range of food especially for vegetarians, also for the starters and Mains.
