Very rustic & modern casual style Italian restaurant. I wasn’t overly impressed with the food. It was decent enough, but no wow factor from what I’ve read, & I love Italian food. It’s quite compact inside, & very loud, so not a place to go for a quiet dinner, or something low-key. Decent place for a quick casual bite with friends. Service is okay, a little slow, but that’s a bit standard with how busy it can get. Average food, nothing special, average service. Might try again if I’m in the area & want a quick takeaway.

Still my favourite pasta joint in Newtown. Pasta is always cooked perfectly! And the added chicken schnitzel is a bonus addition. Shame the prices have been creeping up over time. I would no longer consider this spot a cheap eat anymore.

Bit of a wait for a table during busy times. The place is buzzy and loud. I had the schnitzel and veg which was pretty good but would have been a lot better if it came with a gravy . My friend had the king pawn pasta, again was okay but lacked sauce. The portions are not that big. We don’t normally order pasta so nothing to compare it to but $24 for a small bowl of penne and four prawns seemed overpriced. The service is quick efficient. So many great places in Newtown probably wouldn’t rush back.

I would probably be more inclined to swallow your creamy load (of carbonara).

Most of pasta are delicious. Kindly service, comfortable seats but a little hot when sitting inside.

I had been wanting to try The Italian Bowl for ages since there is always a long line out the front. Kind of tossing up between a 3 or 4 star review. The experience here was just okay, not bad, but not memorable really. The food was OK, good value on the sides, but I felt the pasta was a bit on the bland side. And like other customers have mentioned, it did seem kind of unusual to have to pay extra for cheese. Service was OK. Girl at front counter was nice and patient even though she was clearly under the pump. The other staff we interacted with just seemed so rushed and flat out. I don't like it when the food comes before the cutlery. The atmosphere was kind of nice though, there was a buzz and it was packed with people. The blaring late 90s music actually enhanced the excitement of the place. Overall it was satisfactory but totally do not understand the hype.

This was such a cute little restaurant. I loved the experience of ordering really quickly, being seated but not really rushed out. The staff were all happy, smiling and welcoming. The food was delicious and I'm looking forward to coming back to trying something new. This experience is what Newtown is all about!

Everything authentic Italian should be! Delectable and hearty! They do old school traditional dishes. Plenty of vegetarian options. Scrumptious scrumptious!!!

Great restaurant, went again after many years and still very good , just great food !!
