If you like pork knuckle cooked properly, then this isn't the place for you! Crispy skin and presentation, good. Meat, tough and under cooked, the fat not melted at all, not at all tender or appropriately prepared... sorry. This is the second time I tried it there...''don't judge a one off!'' The exceptional beer and attentive waiting staff saved this entry to two stars...

Very disappointing experience, it used to be such a great pub many years ago. Had a few drinks with my friends after work, we couldn't hear each other. Music was loud enough for a night club, not even mention the disco party style. Food was disgraceful and nothing to do with German cuisine (all starters/entrees), would probably have a better experience in the fast food. Definitely won't recommend to anyone, especially to who would like to get a German food&drink experience.

An absolutely horrendous experience. When we first arrived we sat at a table near the window. As we sat, we noticed a strange smell and it proceeded to get worse. The staff also noted this, however didn't know what it was or where it was coming from. We decided to move to the other side of the restaurant. 20 seconds in and we started to be rained on as there were multiple leaks in the roof. We had already ordered by this time and had food on the way. We needed to move 5 times because the roof was leaking everywhere and the tables were becoming saturated with water. This is a Rockpool Group restaurant. One meal came as we moved to our final location, 35 minutes following placing the order. The second meal came 15 minutes later. There were only 32 covers in the restaurant so it wasn't busy, they had 4 staff, and orders aren't even placed through staff anyway, as you use the Me&U app. When my meal finally arrived, it was so salty, it wasn't edible. I went to chat to the manager and told him about our 5 table moves, the smell, the leaking of water over our food, our drinks and ourselves, and that the meal was inedible. He said there was nothing he could do. I asked for a refund and he proceeded to give me a refund request form to send to their Head Office for approval. I suggested that the floor might need to be mopped as it was a WHS issue, and he said not possible, but he could put a wet floor sign up. We decided to leave without finishing our meals as the experience was ridiculous. We were surrounded by wet tissues that we used to soak up the water around us and no staff came to clear anything. This is the Rockpool group guest experience? Just before we left, we were offered complementary drinks which we declined as we just wanted to get out of there. Having worked in hospitality for a number of years, I'm shocked and appalled by this experience. I will be following up on the refund. Given this was the level of service, I don't have hope.

I thoroughly enjoyed tucking in. Better than home cooked, with no fuss, get stuck in, and lick your lips flavour. The smallest beer (or lager) needs two hands to lift up the jug. What an authentic Bavarian experience, right here on the Manly Wharf's pristine waters edge. The staff were very understanding in regard to our gluten free diet and surpassed all our expectations. Well done chefs!

Good beer. Good food. TERRIBLE service. You couldn't get worse anywhere else in the whole Sydney area. Overcharged me when I ordered food, had to go back to get my bill and then a refund for the correct amount. Took more than 30min to get my food which was only two entrees, and multiple times waitresses came and asked us if we were still waiting to be served like they wished we left already. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

Your venue has one of the best staff we’ve ever experienced in Sydney. Your food is spectacular, your bar staff - always smiling and welcoming, your serving staff - always polite and professional. We’re very lucky that we have businesses like yours in our Northern Beaches.
