Spicers really impressed us during our two night stay. The rooms were beautiful and well maintained, as were the hotel grounds. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were excellent - you got the impression nothing was too difficult for the staff. Can’t recommend the hotel enough.

Wish I had longer to stay in the guesthouse, we only stopped over for one night on my way down south. The guesthouses interior design is beautiful and practical. Situated in the Hunter Valley with all creature comforts. The staff and resident geese are very welcoming. Felt like home.

I recently hosted my wedding ceremony at Spicers Guesthouse and it was INCREDIBLE. All wedding guests were called in the lead up and asked if they needed assistance booking dinners or any advice, which really set the tone for how amazing our weekend would be. One staff member Jordan also turned what could have been a negative experience (one room wasn't ready) into a REALLY positive experience, by providing drinks in the bar for those guests while they waited. That actually made their day! During our wedding we had Maddie look after us. She was phenomenal. Nothing was an issue for her. She was happy and helpful every step of the way and never complained about any request we had (and as you know with weddings, there are plenty). Her and the staff even managed to find us rose petals to drop down the aisle within a minutes notice, a minute before the wedding started as our florist had forgotten. They went the extra mile for us. So grateful!

Beautiful place to unwind ... this is the great place to share with your love ones... the infinity pool is just naturally beautiful great location great atmosphere. highly recommended...spacious parking lot too.. nothing bad to say .just Simply perfect!

Highly recommended Property is perfect for couples weekend away or a corporate conference. Alison (staff) was an absolute delight and an asset to the spicers team.

Had an awesome stay here. Room was modern clean and well appointed. The grounds, pool and fire pits are really cool. The bar and restaurant are great as well. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Spicers

Beautiful property with great views, nice pool and a friendly staff. A couple downsides are the rooms are tiny and there's a lot of bugs. The wifi is barely functional. The restaurant has a good breakfast but average dinner. We enjoyed our stay but wouldn't say this is a "must" visit location.

The property is lovely but there are some key issues that really would prevent us from staying here again or recommending, such a shame as the grounds, pool and restaurant are lovely. Pro's: The restaurant was great, two very experienced hospitality professionals made it so, combined with great food. Forget the names of the waiters, two mature guys. Poolside service was great. Cons: Fix the fly screens so they block all size bugs. Our room was overrun by bugs, the window was left open by a previous guest or staff, we returned to find it with hundreds of bugs. We then had to endure chemicals sprayed to kill the bugs, which resulted in our eyes being irritated, mouths coated with a chemical taste, and had difficulty breathing. We couldn't open a window to clear out the bug spray because then we would have more bugs. Fix the room ventilation, put in ceiling fans, change the fly screens and clean them - they were covered in webs and bugs. Staff member who attended to this issue we initially had a miscommunication with -- initially she wasn't empathetic to the distress this caused and was reductive 'its the hunter, we have bugs', not an ideal response especially given the level of discomfort we were experiencing. She did however make amends and resolved both the communication issue and room issue to a satisfactory level. However the whole experience left a bad taste both literally and metaphorically.
