Nice location for lazy brunch. Small cafe with great food.

Cosy little brunch place with some good food choices and friendly staff.

Relaxing and tranquil is how I would describe this lovely cafe. The staff are wonderfully professional and the environment is a plus. The taste complements the interesting menu also.

honestly…food was so so… the bread of sandwich was not toasted，it was cold mushroom and lamb both too oily… my soy cap was not that creamy，tasted plain cant understand why the google rating is so high… the owner were very nice but I think maybe they treat here more like a place to kill time and enjoy life not a business

Slowpoke hits the trifecta each time - fantastic coffee, more-ish food, and warm service and relaxed vibes. They serve Allpress espresso. (I love that the coffee doesn't come in a tiny cup.) Food is organic and sourced locally. Cute space with a courtyard out the back. My favourite cafe in Fitzroy.

Being Fitzroy residents, we recently became captivated by this brilliant, local gem following glowing reports from our son and daughter-in-law for whom it had become the cafe of choice. Slowpoke Espresso is operated by a young, dedicated and enthusiastic couple, Duc and My. The partners perform the bulk of the customer greeting, coffee brewing, cooking and general food preparation duties. Their welcome is warm and cheerful, and the service prompt and impeccable. All selections from the interesting and varied menu are prepared deliciously by My who is a very accomplished chef. The excellent coffee never disappoints and the wonderful homemade cakes are an irresistible indulgence. Varied table options are available with the added attraction of a secluded courtyard for the finer weather and an open fire for cooler times. When you next visit the Brunswick Street/Fitzroy environs, treat yourself to a visit to this local hospitality icon.

This is my favourite brunch place in Melbourne, which also includes a little backyard spot! Outstanding coffee, food is locally sourced, always fresh and menu is varied! I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Staff are always welcoming and super friendly! Thank you for being there!

Perfectly made coffee and beverages, Slowpoke is definitely on my list of favorites. They have a very intelligently tailored menu that will appease the breakfast and brunch seeker. They have modified very common regularly seen menu items at most places to elevated levels. Pleasant, comfortable and cosy, the vibe is very homely and not pretentious at all. Will definitely return to try the rest of the menu, especially the Green Eggs and Ham.
