Shingle Inn Chermside

Have a child with extreme anaphylactic allergies, so had food for him that he could eat. Shingle Inn staff told us to leave, as we had outside food - they were quite rude with their request and had no understanding for extreme food allergies. I recommend walking further down to Little Sparrow who were more than accommodating and had genuinely lovely staff.

Quite basic food but not bad. They do really nice mini cupcakes here though! The frosting is amazing.

Had coffee and caramel brownie. Both very nice. But what I especially liked was the large size coffee cup. No handles, just hold mug in hands.

Staff here are lovely and always accommodating. I get my coffee here everyday and recommend this Cafe to everyone..my husband says it's the best breakfast he has ever had in a Cafe and I have to agree

The staff are pretty rude here and quite short and abrupt. It’s hard to know why they think it’s okay to come across that arrogant and impatient with customers. This comment is based on at least 10 visits and I am always surprised that their attitude never seems to improve. The coffee is okay but I find the full strength versions to taste a bit burnt or bitter. They used to do cute kids tea party platters with cupcakes and a cute short bread biscuit but that has changed now and the new version seems to be rather ordinary. At least their cupcakes with faded and ‘old’ looking smarties have gone! (Smarties would fade in refrigerator from humidity but looked unappealing) Food is overpriced but okay in quality. Nothing amazing to be honest. This stores best features is probably their cake but their North Lakes store puts this store to shame. There is definitely room for improvement for happier customer experiences.

Mum ordered a steak sandwich. The meat was tuff as nails. I ordered poached eggs on toast slapped on the plate with a small piece of toast. No presentation. No green nothing. $43 later?? Very disappointed when paying this price.

So we pull up into the Shingle inn at Chermside. We were moved from our table as it was a 4 person table and there was just the two of us. Ok, fair enough. Only then they seated another couple at our old table. Coffee was ok a bit below the Maccas standard. Food was ok, had better, had worse.

Found a bug in our frittata salad. The counter staff just throw away our meal and tell us that they can't do anything else. They just want say sorry and let customer know that's not there responsibility. How Incredible !
