Riverside Hotel SouthBank

What an absolute inconsiderate unreasonable business! Had a booking which I needed to change due to some unforeseen circumstances. It was last minute (the day before the booking). With this whole covid situation I understand some businesses are doing to tough so instead of trying to cancel I requested a change of date, so we could still support local business. The hotel refused and said they will still be taking payment. Will never stay at this hotel again!!

I won't write a bad review, this place already has enough of those, instead I'll offer management some suggestions based on our recent and below par stay at this place. Firstly, when a guest comes to you wanting / needing to leave due to a government imposed 3 day lockdown, don't tell those guests that they are still able to stay as they can still go and visit GOMA and other places along Southbank. Maybe you need to visit the Qld Government website and refresh yourself on what a lockdown means and not give guests advice like this. Secondly, don't tell those same guests that if you "really wanted to you could issue a refund but it would involve alot of paperwork". That renders everything that you said regarding policies, rights, regulations, etc, etc, before and after that nothing but white noise. Lastly, maybe go to the ACCC website and read, amongst other things, the part where it says, and I quote; "The ACCC encourages all travel and accommodation providers to treat consumers fairly in these difficult circumstances". Something, based on all the negative reviews on Google and Facebook that you guys have, don't practice too well.

Clean hotel with decent sized room. Good for business stays. Closer to restaurants and bars. One lady staff seemed to be a bit cranky but the other bloke was fine. On site restaurant was closed for dinner during my visit.

Good value hotel. Rooms are nice and clean. On-site parking available which is very convenient too.

Super convenient location in the CBD with great value accommodation. I got a small suite which is a little dated but brilliant value for what I paid. Very friendly staff and great service, which is what I value above everything else. I will definitely return for the value and convenience of the location and the big balcony with chilled views of Brisbane City.

Staff were fantastic, highly recommended. We turned up 2 hours earlier for check in but they allowed us to check in early. We were too late for lunch service but they found the chef to make lunch just for us. Highly RECOMMEND

Reception staff is extremely rude, I've stayed at Riverside Hotel for 18 months now and never had a positive interaction with any of the team members. Whenever I bring up any issues with general infrastructure (e.g. carpark not being available despite paying for it, garage key box not operating properly), I am brushed off and there is no action taken. Management of Riverside Hotel, please conduct some training with your staff on how to politely speak with your customers, it will go a long way!
