Beautiful setting, Beautiful food, wine and the staff are amazing. Shania a stand out. She was wonderful and looked after us magnificently.

A group of friend’s and I booked in for for a lunch at Red Poles based on reviews and recommendations. Initially the service was fairly standard, orders were taken, we went inside to get drinks etc. Entrees came out in relatively good time and were quickly consumed. Thinking the mains were about to come out, I finished my wine as I would have to drive. We then were left waiting 2 more hours for mains with no explanation or apology. To then make matter worse, they forgot one of the meals which turned out to be mine, so I sat embarrassingly waiting for my main before finally conceding and going to ask for it. When it did get ‘found’, the lamb shank couldn’t decide taste wise it it wanted to be a shank or roast lamb. It was underwhelming and I could genuinely do better. We had planned on showing our visiting friends a number of McLaren Vale’s wineries, but given the amount of time we spent waiting, it was too late by the time we left Red Poles. Under staffed / over booked. Poor service. This place was a day ruiner. Not at all good enough.

We had been here for lunch before and had been seated on the lawn area. The food and service were really good so I was looking forward to returning. Unfortunately this we where placed at the end of the veranda which wasn't very nice as it felt like we were sitting in the car park. The staff where lovely but the service was not very good. We had to ask twice for some water for our table and the glass of wine we ordered to have with mains didn't come until well after we had finished eating. The mains was nice and the dessert was really good but overall I don't think I will be rushing to come back.

Unexpected drop in turned out to be a great call. Delicious cheese platter with some local wine. Loved the outdoor under tree area. Very relaxing 👍

Such a beautiful afternoon by the fire. Red Poles never disappoints. Ps order the scallops!

Good ambience, food good (however not outstanding) and pleasant staff (despite forgetting our table of 6 and waiting for our main for1.4 hours). Lovely sitting under the peppercorn tree with the beautiful little birds. Relaxing and pleasant we enjoyed our day. We appreciated the good wine list !
