B38/345 Victoria Ave, Chatswood
Not bad but probably didn’t match my expectations. The place had nice decor and did try to achieve the authentic vibe, but we all agreed that the stools for seating were not preferable! We came on a Saturday night and the wait was about 15 minutes, which is actually pretty good considering how busy it was. They don’t allow bookings if you’re a group less than 5, which makes it difficult too. In terms of ordering, it was all done online /on your phone. This was both a pro and a con. On one hand, it allows you to easily order and add to your order without having to flag someone down. However, it makes it more difficult to see the menu and choose what to eat, particularly in a larger group. The food was varied. One thing we noticed was that a lot of the plates (the physical plates) were huge. This made it difficult to fit everything on the table, so you had to quickly eat a dish before the next came. We got a chicken dish, fried rice, Xiao long baos, duck noodles, and duck pancakes. For the most part, the servings were pretty big. But, for the duck pancakes, the amount of duck seemed to be very small (as you can see in the image). Overall, it was decent food, but not as great as it seems. In terms of price, it probably isn’t worth it for what it is?
Great food and service. We booked a booth for a large group and were well looked after.
Feels like this joint used to be better.... Came here on a Thursday night at 6:30 and still had to wait 30min to get a table. When we sat down we were told we only have 1 hour dining time. Feels like this is just not enough for dinner. We ordered and the food came out immediately as if it was prepared earlier. Only the soup dumplings felt like it was made to order. The food overall was very average and service wasn’t so good.
Would have been a 5 star if they hadn't promised a 20min wait and then actually let us wait for over an hour. The food was delicious, the pork buns and wanton with peanut sauce are the best. Didn't really like the appetisers.
Concerned with the cleaniness of the food. Saw cockroaches crawling through the floor. Quietly approached the manager but was told this is common in winter and that it is a Chatswood Chase issue not the restaurant.
My girl likes their noodle. We come always after her class.
Really enjoyed the food, but it's a long wait to get in. So pre-book or prepare to eat late.
We thought we would try this place as it looked very popular. First, we had to get a number and wait 45 minutes to get in the restaurant which also raised our expectation. However, we couldn't be disappointed more after we got our order and with the services we received. The first thing the staff tell you is that you have 1 hour to have your meal and you get a QR code to order you meal online. As soon as you order, you receive your bill. To this point and after about an hour waiting, we still hadn’t received any service, not even offered a glass of water. This could be understandable if the restaurant was relatively cheap and wanted to cut the cost of staff but NS is not cheap at all. The calamari fries and soft shells crabs had an odd smell and taste. The starter arrived after out mains :) and although inside the restaurant wasn't so busy, the service was very poor. Even for paying we had to wait for the staff as they left us in the middle of process to attend to other people. The bill I received on the table was around $80 which said GST included, but when I checked my receipt after I left the restaurant, I realized I was charged $90. The only explanation for the long ques, is that they may be the only place in the shopping centre that serves alcoholic drinks. Definitely, do not recommend this place.
A great Shanghai dumpling restaurant, where the delicious dumplings and noodles are made in the glass walled kitchen, so you can observe their handiwork. One of our favourites. Great flavour and a nice fit out, all conveniently located in the food court level of Chatswood Chase, where you can get 3 hours of free parking.
I heard this shop is famous. but disappointed due to very bad service and staff very rude. and even more disappointed in the food. dumplings and fried buns not crispy. not delicious compared with super expensive price. it not worth for money. other shop will have better food and cheaper price. this is not worth try and waste money .
