Love their pastries. Not much of a cake person and atmosphere is not very cafe-like, but so great to pop in and pick up a little danish or croissant

Popular shop in the heart of Freshwater with eat in or take out. Great selection of pastries and sourdough as well as pies and sausage rolls and gelato. Coffee is pretty good too!

This is actually one of the best bakeries I have ever been to! They have an amazing range of pastries and cakes that are to die for! We grabbed more than we could possibly finish because everything just looked so scrumptious! I can definitely vouch that it all tasted as good as it looked.

We were in Freshwater for a day out and spotted Mrs Jones the Baker on the corner of Moore Road. The bright neon light and window of baked goods enticed us in further. This bakery/café has a window full of all their delectable offerings, that you will find it hard to choose. They sell artisan breads, cakes, pastries, gelato and coffee. From the artisan bread range, there’s white sourdough, soy linseed, wholemeal, rye sourdough, baguettes, fruit loaf and more. If you’re after a pastry to eat in or on the go, why not grab yourself a cinnamon brioche, snail, cinnamon twist, pain au chocolat, raspberry brioche, pear and strawberry danish, apple danish, almond croissant amongst the many on offer. We tried the light and tasty quinoa and apple slice – though it seemed more raisin and berry than apple. Savoury pastries are available too, such as sausage rolls, pies, beef pies and quiches. For a sweet treat, there’s so many, featuring carrot cake, raspberry brownies,), caramel coconut slice, pear and raspberry frangipane tart slice, lemon drizzle cakes, salted caramel donuts and cruffins, chocolate donuts and cruffins. You can also order fancy patisserie cakes such as salted caramel tarts, lemon meringue tarts and chocolate eclairs just to name a few. They sell mini versions if you’re just after a small treat or whole cakes for a celebration. There’s stores in Waringah Mall, Freshwater and Frenchs Forest, we visited the Freshwater location. They use high quality, organic base ingredients with no artificial additives and they’ve also got gluten, dairy and nut free as well as vegan and low sugar choices too.

Grabbed a coffee and Norfolk shortbread for a quick snack. Lots of flies going around the cakes in the display window which wasn't great. Scone was nice and flavourful, coffee average. Service slow but adequate.

Love Mrs Jones the Baker! The pastries and bread are always beautiful. My only complaint - after eating at the cafe today - was please train your staff not to wipe seats and then the tables with the same cloth. A chair was removed from our table because it had blood all over the seat (don't want to know why) - so that is why you need separate cloths.

Great service from Ali! Helped us supply one of our clients with a box of goodies over the phone and showed great patience and attention to detail to make it extra special. Would recommend 100%.

As soon as it was our turn to be served the lady skipped me and asked the lady behind me if she had been served. I believe it was racism as each of the attendants suddenly had other things to be doing rather than serving the line which continued out the door onto the footpath. I was not served until I stood at the cash register expressing disappointment.

Disappointed as quality keeps going down when prices are going up. Bought several undercooked breads to which there was no explanation or apology when contacting them. Patisseries are overly sweet and lack taste. Pies have definitely changed for the worse, the pastry isn't the best, it breaks, ruining clothes due to tasteless filling running everywhere. I miss the early days when each piece was outstandingly deliciously divine...

Absolutely love this bakery, everything is made on site at the back of the shop which is behind glass so you can see everything. My favourite is the pork and caramelised onion sausage roll (this is bigger than you think and is a must have!). We also had a selection of danishes, croissants and brownies. Not the cheapest but worth it as I couldn’t fault any of them. Will definitely come back when passing through again.
