8 Bourke St Shop 7 2020, Mascot
Excellent Cantonese styled roasted duck with crispy skin, one of the best I have tried in Sydney.
It's hard to come across a good hongkie roasted meats place that's also decently priced in Sydney. But this place is a lil hidden gem! The roast duck was my favourite -- it was juicy and skin was still crispy! The roast pork was soft and skin had a chewy crunch on it. The smallest let-down for me was their char siu (signature roast meat) which I found a bit dry and bland... Could've done with more sauce imo! This place is delicious with comfy seatings and best of all, it's a pretty sweet deal! The combo lunch set which includes a side of veggies, soup, and rice was under $20aud and honestly, I had enough leftovers for another meal after. I'd gladly come back and try more of their dishes and dimsum! β€οΈππ° @mignitatravels
Everything is perfect especially combination set with roasted duck and crispy pork, also comes with best steamed vegetable my boyfriend has ever had. Last but not least, yum cha is big, hot streamed too. Very well done, 5 stars deserved!
I love their roast duck set. It wasn't gamey. I love their hongkong milk tea too. This is probably the best Chinese restaurant I have been to in Sydney. Definitely recommended. The restaurant is just at the front of the station.
The porridge is the best. The large size is enough for four people. The veg is quite big with a not cheap price. Maybe itβs better to have smaller size with cheaper price for veg. The bbq pork is nice.
It's really unfortunate this place use to make really good food but it's gone really down hill. I've given them a few chances on their char siew (roast pork) which is meant to be their flagship dish. Instead what I get is bowl of complete fat! It's absolutely ridiculous and a disgrace to be serving something like this to customers. Not only is it a rip off but it's a health risk to be serving only fat and not actual meat to customers. I'm so disappointed and I hope they'll take this feedback and use lean meat not purely fatty meats to cut costs!
Consistently flavoursome Cantonese food Explains why I return here for my top pick of Pipi with black bean. Can say this as my favourite restaurant located at the Mascot station precinct. Given the quality of produce used and how it is cooked I highly recommend Mr Lei for a satisfying meal experience.
Best Chinese lunch around this area. Cantonese Hong Kong style. Very nice premium restaurant dining experience. Comfortable chairs. Great service. Water is served chilled. The food. Perfect. Delicious.
Recommended by friends we went to Mr Lei last night, everything looked attractive and tasted so well. I like this Imperial Free Range Chicken that is different with all other restaurants, it was marinated so well and although it's a cold dish you will still feel like eating it as it is, I don't think warm it up is a good idea. Also I saw a spring soy chicken that looks great and I wanted to eat as well but I was so full and couldn't take it anymore lol. Ice cream with mango and coconut topping is so good and I feel sinful after eating so much, have to go to Gym on Sunday morning. Highly recommended!
Had the mix bbq meat dinner set, char siu was fatty and juicy, roast duck was flavorful. Set comes with soup (or a cold drink), veggies, pickles and rice. Great value for money highly recommend it!
