Great beer

Loved the feel of the downstairs pub before heading upstairs for a sit down dinner. Delicious options and just a great atmosphere in general. Would definitely go back.

Love the atmosphere and vibe of the Marquis of Lorne, 2nd time i've come back and never disappoints. Great hearty meals, and good beer selection all for a reasonable price. 3 levels so it always has something to offer for any group.

The service was poor. Manager was grumpy. Not nice place for relaxing lunch. Very poor vegetarian options with no capacity for variation to accomodate.

Great food and booze - but needs to take legal responsibility to ensure all patrons check in via QR code more seriously. No QRs on menus or tables, no one asks before serving you that you’ve checked in

This local Fitzroy institution was an awesome surprise find. Wandering in from the busy and crowded pub downstairs you would be excused for lowering your expectations. But walk upstairs and the place transforms from a busy local pub into cozy restuarant. Open fireplace roaring, room lit buy candlelight and a few laps this is an awesome date spot if I've ever seen. Staff are attentive and watchful, constantly checking in and covering each other with skill and grace comparable to most hatted restuarants in the CBD. The menu is quite extensive with everyday favourites, alongside some creative alternatives and daily specials all very well priced and won't leave a burning hole in your wallet. Wine list is decent with plenty of variety available to suit any palate. Very impressed with this venue will be back again to check out the rest of the menu! Bloody loved this place. As a Brit recently arrived in Oz, I struggle to find many boozers that ooze character instead of sodding pokie machines. This spot has character in spades. Fantastic food, a brilliant wine list, friendly staff and loads of excellent beers. Only problem is I live in Sydney. Can you teleport the Marquis up north, please?!?

Love this pub! It has three levels each with a different vibe, drinks are well priced for the area and you can't beat their steak night.
