We dined early on a Tuesday night. There were only a couple of other patrons so our service was friendly and efficient. The young ladies serving us were very welcoming. I had the steak and beef ribs. The ribs fell off the bone, were melt in the mouth and delicious. My steak was a little over but still tasty. Chips were crunchy and flavoursome and the slaw made a nice contrast. The servings were huge, my wife couldn't finish her beef ribs. The mushroom starter was nice as well. All in all a good night was had. Definitely recommend Lone Star to anyone wanting ribs!
Ended up going here with some friends for dinner. I had the classic chz burger with an extra patty. The burger was amazing, it was my first time going there and they didn’t disappoint. I will definitely be going there again.
I had the porterhouse steak cooked perfectly medium rare as per my request with lightly steamed veg and creamy mash and my partner relished his decadent burger. It looked like a challenge to eat due to it's size but it smelled amazing and the home made patty looked moist. A nice, varied menu, attentive, friendly staff and great food. My partner wanted to return the next day!
Place was basically empty. We booked a table in advance and then the staff tried to put us outside in late June whilst it was raining. No staff greeted us at the door, it also appeared they hadn't written down our booking. Go across the road to the Oxford, staff are at least polite and helpful.
Service was fast & friendly considering it was a full house (Saturday night) My meal was the Beef Ribs - the highlight of the dish was the tasty hot chips, I felt the ribs were a little dry, but probably could have been adjusted by the chef by adding extra Smokey BBQ Sauce (either on top, or a small bowl on the side) The flavors were nice, just need a little extra sauce. Lastly, it would have also been nice if they gave you a warm or refresher towel, or perhaps even a bowl to wash your fingers... ribs are always messy to eat hahaha 🤣🤤
Good meals, good service and overall good food. I do agree with other reviews that wet towels or bibs should maybe be provided but this didn’t take away from the taste of the food or the quality service. It was very busy on Saturday night when we came so I would recommend ahead booking for peak hour times to ensure you get a table.
Fast and friendly service. The food is great. The prices are a bit high for the portion size. The ribs for TWO had 5 beef ribs and 3 baby back straps. Bit hard to divide by 2.
Fantastic service. Food was good. Fairly generous servings. Other American style restaurants would offer bibs or wet wipes/provide a cleaning bowl to wash our hands after eating ribs but Lonestar did not, which was a bit disappointing. The two of us ordered the cowboy combo (the mozzarella cheese sticks were delicious), Carolina wings (they forgot to put on the wild willy chilli sauce for us) and baby back pork ribs. We were VERY full so probably over ordered. Otherwise overall a good experience.
Great food! The staff were super friendly and looked after us so well! Great location, we had an awesome time
Great feed, the chicken wings in wild willy chilli sauce are delicious, as are their pork ribs which are succulent and fall off the bone. Staff are fantastic, very attentive and helpful
