Good, comfortable motel. Very clean room, nice comfy bed. Longish walk to town centre, but restaurant adjoining is handy. Goulburn can be cold, so when we went in winter the room was warm. Offers decent continental breakfast in some tariffs. Staff really friendly. Good stopover point.

The hotel is well priced for what you get. Its clean and tidy but very basic, although if thats what you're after then 👍great! The people who work there are lovely, the only problem with the people is that the manager has very poor personal hygiene to a pretty extreme extent.

DO NOT STAY HERE… I booked in over the phone to stay at lilac city motor inn, the woman took my payment ($169) and told me my key would be in my room when I arrived. I drove 4 hours and arrived at midnight to find someone else was in my room. I called the reception immediately after I had discovered this and it transpired they had made an error with my booking, booking me in the night before the date that I had explicitly told them. There was no other room available that night so I was stranded in Goulburn with nowhere to stay. The fact they made this error is not the reason I am writing this review, mistakes happen. However after all of this they are now not even giving me my money back for a room I didn’t and couldn’t use because of a mistake on their part. I have emailed and called many times and was initially told that they would contact the accountant but then I heard nothing back. Then I called back and asked to speak to the person in charge/accountant and was told he was on holiday (in the peak of a pandemic). Then after this they said they wouldn’t give me the contact details of the person in charge and wouldn’t give me a reason… The lack of professionalism shown by this company is genuinely astounding. This happened in early October and the owner/person in charge has been avoiding me ever since. If you want to lose your money and risk getting nothing for it, then go ahead and book with Lilac City Inn but If you value your money and how you spend it, I wouldn’t even dream of it.

Love this motel for the fact it is pet friendly and owned by some wonderful people. My partner doesn't have a positive story to add about these guys but I am more than happy with there service. I would only have to say there meals in room service are very simple could do with some improvement.

Premises are old and tired. Staff friendly and helpful. Cleaners are letting the side down as lots of dust and dead flies on sills and floor. Restaurant menu was basic but the food was very good.

Accommodation though aged was clean, roomy and comfortable. The dining menu for what was supposed to be a steakhouse was misleading. The only steak available was rump even though the menu included scotch fillet. The menu also included a pasta dish and that was not available. The menu included these on the website, menu in our room and the menu given to us upon entry to the steakhouse. They need to get it right but in saying all this we did enjoy the meals we had

So small and cramped. Needed a good scrub!!! Bedding smelt stale, pillows were disgusting and I question if sheets were fresh. Not worth $129 . Definitely only a 2 star

The staff were very friendly but professionally needed a lot more training. Went to the restaurant for dinner. Only 2 of us in there. 15 minutes to get our drinks.. Staff actually asked us how do we make a gin and tonic!! Ordered steak. Both meals muddled up and had to swap steaks off our plates to match what we asked for. Both steaks so grissly tough. Couldn't eat. Very disappoined. On service and food. Staff need to be trained and chef needs to know how to cook. Sorry.

Worst Golden Chain experience ever, compared to others over the last 25 years. Size of room the smallest of any & unappealing ambience. Neighbours kept us awake with partying so lucky if we got an hours sleep. Management did not turf them out or at the least advise them to quell the noise at such unreasonable hours. They even had the audacity to charge us credit card fees with prior notification. For the cost of an extra $5 per night, compared to Lilac City Motel,we stayed for 2 nights at Novotel Rooty Hill in a suite and caught up with lost sleep! They even gave us two $30 food vouchers to utilise in adjacent restaurants! Would we recommend this establishment or ever stay there again? Never!!!

The room was very clean, tidy and adequate. Check in and out very easy, the staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. The location was excellent and quiet.
