La Capannina

I booked La Capannina to celebrate our son's 50th birthday. Our hosts Lino and Francesca were wonderful and did everything to make the occasion special. Their home grown down to earth family hospitality is what makes this restaurant one of Sydney's best Italian eateries. The food was excellent, menu choice vast and service second to none. Excellent food! Highly recommended the Carpaccio di Manzo and the Costolette d'Agnello. The staff were absolutely lovely.

We have been loyal and loving customers and now friend with owner and front of house Lino Mascolo for over 30 years when he started introducing Sydney to the wonderful Italian food from his home island of Capri in Italy. Lino together with his wife Rosaria and daughters Francesca and Sara opened La Capanina his latest restaurant in 2011. Lino visits the fish market every day to select the best and freshest fish for his customers. The authentic Italian seafood dishes prepared by his diligent chefs always transport us back to the southern Italian seas and the island of Capri. Lino’s wine recommendations from his vast selection of Italian wines compliment the meal. The Italian deserts washed down with Lino’s famous home made Limoncello makes a memorable meal. Lino and his family offer an experience that is rare in Australia, but something that you experience often in Italy.

Gone for a Dinner last Friday. It was an amazing experience, great ambience . Food was simply delicious. Friendly staff. Restaurant owner is a legend.

Good quality food for reasonable price! Reasonable portions too. Loved the ambiance except for a few loud groups that kind of spoilt it yelling and being loud having too much to drink might be. Service was slightly slow but other than that a very friendly boss to welcome us and good food above it all
