Great place if you are looking for cakes

The pastries, bread and cakes are darned good! The coffee is strong (Merlo) but not bitter - they know how to use the machine ;)

Sold us a small, day-old loaf of bread for over $6 without telling us it wasn’t fresh. What a rip-off.

Really great pastries and bagels, can't wait to try the pies!

Really disappointed! We visited based on the reviews but did not have a good experience. The decor lends itself to the atmosphere of a hospital cafeteria. It felt rather clinical and tired. The two young staff, though extremely friendly and polite, were both a bit lost (forgetting utensils, asking if "eating in" after already bagging up food in takeaway then having to re-plate it, not knowing which customers coffee went to so wandered around asking everyone if they had bought it). Perhaps their manager was on break, but both need more training as they didn't appear comfortable in their role. The steak pie I received tasted a bit funny, it didn't seem wholly fresh. It was rather flat like it had been squished, and extremely oily. The honey slice was nice but that was the extent of it, and thus a bit underwhelming given the reviews that made us visit this place. If given the option honestly we would not have eaten there. Initially we had also been planning to get a cake for some friends but after eating the food we went to the cheesecake shop instead for it. I wouldn't recommend this place, I think there's better quality food available elsewhere, unfortunately.

Went in for a cake and also grabbed a pie. Excellent decision! Great pies.

Such a disappointment. King of Cakes isn’t how it used to be. The buns we bought were dry and old at 8am Sunday morning. This happened a few times. It’s a shame that these days bread from Coles tastes better. You are a bakery, you have one job.

Fantastic bakery with an amazing range of products. Pies are hot and the pastry crisp. The sweets selections include fresh made (daily) donuts, cakes, slices, and etc. The coffee is great, cannot recommend enough!

I love this bakery, however I went in today and something’s not right. Has the baker changed recently? Their signature items such as the cakes were sunken in the middle, the croissants tiny and dense looking, the pie pastry had soggy bottoms, and the vanilla slice icing translucent. I’ll be back to check and report in a few weeks to see if this was an anomaly, I really hope this great bakery hasn’t lost it’s way.
