Wow - amazing food! First time experiencing Columbian food and loved every bit of it. If you dine here, you HAVE to go for the banquet. The empanadas are crispy - unlike the ones we get in Argentina which have more of a pastry coating. Grilled octopus had lovely flavours. Eggplant side dish is a must have. And the best is the three milk cake dessert. Review will not be complete without mentioning the lovely Julianna who waited on us perfectly
My very first Columbian meal and it was delicious. Keep it up guys. People need to try your plantain and coconut dish ๐๐. The ice cream sandwich was amazing ๐คฉ
Beautiful food and amazing service. Loved the banquet with every dish having great flavours. Great choice of drinks too.
Been there a few times. Coffee and food are nice. The only reason for 2 star is that one of their staff (the Asian lady, particularly her.) is not very nice to customers. I just went in again at around 2pm to get a coffee because I like their beans. She again looked annoyed and didn't even say a word during the ordering. No Hi, no here or take away no nothing. I have worked in hospitality many years and I'm not asking people to have an over the top service. But a simple hi and smile would make a difference. Maybe it's just her way of service who knows. I probably won't go back again even I really like the coffee there.
Genuinely some of the best food I've had in Sydney - every single dish was so delicious (and we tried pretty much everything on the menu). Get all of the mains, it's worth it. Service also brilliant! A perfect introduction to Colombian food. Highly recommend, such a hidden gem.
The best restaurant that Iโve ever tried. The service is awesome, everyone makes you feel like family. You have to come and try it!!
This review is regarding the dinner offering at Juan Montago. I have been here for lunch in the cafe setting which was outstanding, but the dinner experience is next-level. Having never tried Colombian food I was very excited and had high expectations, and these were certainly met. The slow braised beef was tender and juicy, and the smoky empanadas were another highlight. They even have South American wines and soft drinks. The music was terrific, classic Latin music which added culture and class to the ambience. The menu is simple, authentic and well thought out, highlighting fresh produce and bold flavours. The service was exceptional and very helpful for us first timers. All staff were lovely, even the chefs had smiles on their faces. A small mix up resulted in the chef bringing us extra food which made us feel even more welcomed and inspired. Why is this place not more famous? Definitely coming back, gracias para la experiencia increible!
Super delicious food, lovely service, good music, definitely I'll come back again! 100% recommend!
Went on a tuesday for taco tuesday and wow loved all the tacks the drinks the empanadas where sooo good.
The food was good, however the reason for only 3 starts was the very slow service and the portion sizes. Our waitress was really lovely however we waited over an hour for our food to arrive. When the food did eventually arrive, the portion sizes were tiny for the price paid - the prawn dish was $35 for instance and we got 8 prawns in some coconut sauce. The ambience and location was lovely but I wouldn't return again.
