111 Cecil St, South Melbourne
Delicious sushimi cut fresh to order by Jo, great service and fair price.
Jo has been making Sushi for over 25 years experience shows through in every dish he makes. With everything made from the freshest ingredients and such a busy shop the turn over is huge. These are the most important things when eating Sushi. I've been coming to Jo for Sushi for 20years and its always a joy
Not the best sushi restaurant in Melbourne. The staff treated me with no respect, and when I said I needed chopsticks, the woman rolled her eyes and gave it to me. I ordered the teriyaki chicken, but the “chicken” wasn’t actually chicken. It was duck. DUCK! If you are going to make teriyaki chicken; How are you even supposed to make teriyaki chicken with duck? It has chicken in its name, not duck. Whoever owns this place: If you are going to keep on making teriyaki chicken this way, I advise you to change the name to teriyaki duck. The only thing good about this restaurant is that the plain inari was good. To viewers on this review: Eat somewhere else like sushi sushi or Yoyogi instead of this place. The staff show no respect or manners.
Very bad customer service! No respect! Very poor quality and very small portion food size less than 1/3 of a small dish! Not recommend at all
Ordered grilled salmon nigiri. Biggest pieces of salmon I've ever seen but poor quality. Fatty and oily and tasted awful. For $2.50 each (got 8 because they are generally small) expected perfection. So disappointing.
Unbelievable sushi. Value for money!
Excellent sashimi and great sushi. Friends have commented that the wasabi is quite weak and the selection is small, but personally these do not bother me at all. I eat here very often.
As we live close by, we wanted to try this Sushi place in the hopes of finding somewhere local we can support, unfortunately it was the most disappointing experience I’ve ever had with sushi... I don’t know what they’ve done to the tuna on their nigiri, or how long it’s been sitting there, but it is a hair’s breath away from being off. I couldn’t stomach more than one bite of it as it was both the texture and the taste were so off. Not to mention the rice taste stale and hard, as if it was made the day before. Definitely won’t be coming back again, especially at 12 dollars a pack, when you can easily purchase super fresh sushi rolls from the south melbourne market for merely 7 dollars. Beyond disappointing.
Probably had lunch here over 100 times, never been disappointed!
Delicious, fresh sushi. If you’re eating in, the food is nicely presented on real plates, and there is a nice place to sit with views to the street outside. Will become my daily lunch place!
