Everything was amazing.
Despite the nice environment and really hospitable owner, I have to sadly recognized I would not come again to Cheers. We waited over an hour for our food, some of us more than others as the plates didn’t come at the same time, and even when we got them there were things missing like the side rice that came after most of us had finished eating all together. The food was nice but a bit overpriced for the amount of some of the portions. I was grateful, though, that she allowed me to change the salad that came with the mail for a soup with no extra charge. Overall we felt the main issue was that it seemed the owner was the only one doing everything, even the cooking, so even if there were only 3 tables eating, it’s a lot for one person. Hopefully they change that in the future.
This is the worst Japanese food I had in perth. I don’t know how this place gets so many good reviews. The tables and menus are oily. We waited a while to have someone take order for us because there were not enough staffs. The cashier lady had to go to kitchen to help all the time. You can’t see any staff most of the time. The food is definitely overpriced in term of its quality. It took a long time for the food to arrive. None of the food tasted good. They all seems to be microwaved or prepared long time ago. Miso soup was salty and sour. Teriyaki beef was dry and overcooked. Tasted like beef jerky. Yakitori did not look like it’s grilled. The pork in katsudon had a strong pig odour and was dry and stale. The rice was terrible, it felt like it had been sitting in rice cooker for too long, no texture at all. Please avoid this place at all cost! Don’t be fooled by the good reviews.
This is a little hubby and wife run Japanese restaurant hidden away off Hay St in Subiaco. The owners are an absolute delight! This is the ONLY place we go for Japanese food. Best Chawanmushi, most generous serving of Sashimi with the freshest cuts of King Fish, Salmon and Tuna. Also recommend the deep fried eggplant in sweet soy, ginger beef and of course the tempura prawns.
It is with a heavy heart I make this review. This place is just too expensive for the quality and taste and far too slow. I unfortunately did not actually read the reviews and trusted the star rating. The taste and quality is comparable to a normal sushi restaurant (the ones that sell sushi in those take away box's and are everywhere). Me and one other came in during a very quiet period. It was just us and two other groups of two, it was so quiet that most of the conversations were whispers. We ordered 3 main dishes and a side dish, all of them took over an hour to come out. The atmosphere was nice and the lady was more than hospitable. But that's all this place really has.
Food was really disappointed and Not worth at all. We ordered several dishes no drink waiting for long long time finally got them one by one but the taste was all terrible. Even the inexpensive Japanese food we had before is better than here. After finishing here we have to order delivery food at home. Japanese food is not like that. This time is the most unfortunate experience definitely won’t come back.
A cosy little Japanese restaurant with both traditional Japanese tables and western style tables. The food is delicious and the owners are so kind and hospitable.
Delicious teriyaki chicken. The staff are very warm and friendly and make you feel at home, beautiful atmosphere, I will be returning for sure.
Very disappointed by the positive reviews. This place is expensive! And not worth it. If you are looking for a Japanese restaurant, you should definitely go somewhere else. 2 starts only for the nice lady that runs the shop by herself.
Excellent family place and great value
