Emperor Court Chinese Restaurant

Me went there with colleagues during lunchtime in a week day. I actually don’t quite like the environment overall - the old walls smell mouldy, the restaurant definitely needs renovation. There was not much people at that time. The food was surprisingly good, I had shredded pork Shanghai noodle soup, actually not the authentic way to cook as my knowledge is, but it tasted good.

I only visited during lunch time a few times. I think it is the owner that works tirelessly as a one man army. I've never seen a second staff member on the floor. The food quality is ok types. I tried two or three different items but they all taste almost exactly the same no matter the type of sauce or carry you order. Still a good value for $12/$13 takeaway lunch if you're not too big on taste. But the dine-in quality may not necessarily be worth the price.

Proper old school Aussie suburban-style Chinese restaurant. Decor is from 80s. Food was tasty, service a bit slow but not too bad. Would go back.

1st time takeaway customers today. We had 2 lots of entree, 2 mains and special fried rice. All was less then $60. The food was fresh and excellent value for money (we were extra impressed it wasn't chock full of onion like most takeaways are) and the customer service provided by staff was helpful and friendly. It was delicious and will definitely be repeat customers. Thank you

Excellent food at decent prices served with a smile. A top spot. Tables well spaced for privacy. Strongly recommended. Try the sizzling fillet steak, it arrives with a sliced raw onion base. YUM!

Nearly always have their laksa but the other dishes we've tried have been good. The restaurant lacks ambience but the service is good and the prices are reasonable

I can not recommend this restaurant any more highly, the food is always beautiful fast and delicious. The staff are friendly and always helpful. Its easy to see why this restaurant has been around for many years and I hope that they continue for many more to come.

To be honest, the food was horrible and time management need to be seriously looked at - it took over 30 minutes from the first entree to the last entree to reach the table and there was only 3 people and the main meals left a lot to be desired. It was our first time there and it will definitely be our last……would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and I never leave a review like this. Thank god for toilet paper.

Have been going to this restaurant for 26 years. Ordered the usually great combination short soup x2. Price is normally 17.30. Had a beer while waiting and told $7 please. Said no worries and will pay the lot now. They charged an extra $4.00 per soup for prawns. (There were 2 small prawns in each) so told it was $50 for the lot. Ok than told it was $45 with cash but manager came and said no its $50 as only had 2 items. Beer not included. Now I don't care one bit about paying for what you get. But the whole experience tonight was all about gouging as much as they could. We paid $50 for one beer and two soups take away. Must be new owners as it was just over priced and all about the $$$ Will go back to the lovely Thai in same street.

Busy with takeaway orders on a Sunday night at 8pm but I was the only one eating in. Ordered steamed dimsims ( 2 large ones but not so great taste) & sliced beef with vegetables which was good. Nice waitress. Fairly typical style of chinese restaurant.
