Hi we are coming to Cessnock end of this month and wondered if you had any suggestions for things to see and do in and around Cessnock, Hunter valley area please? We like to see and do as much as possible bearing in mind we are in our mid 50's.

There are lots of attractions around the area. Best bet is to head into the tourist information centre to get some local maps. The staff are some of the most friendly around.

Are the hunter vaelly wineries open on holiday season? I am planning to visit there at 29th december 2018 to 31st december 2018. So is it ok to visit there? Thanks

Highly likely as that's peak holiday season but I would email them to be sure.

In early December each year the Hunter Valley Visitor Information Centre produce a list of Christmas and New Year Trading hours as well as a list of trading lunches and restaurants on Christmas Day. The majority on this day will require a pre-booking. Call the Visitor Centre for more information 4993 6700.
